It seems likely the couple built a house on the Manalapan trach almost at once.

James Reid married (Unknown) (Unknown) before 1677; While further research would be required, there is a proposal for marriage for James Reid and Jean Hamilton in 1680 in Book 16, page 27 of the West Scotland Meeting found on page 94 in Scottish Society of Friends "Quakers" Register of Births, Proposals of Marriage, Marriages and Deaths 1647-1878 by Archibald Strath Maxwell.

The reason I believe this is a good lead is that James' brother, John Reid's marriage to Margaret Miller is in Book 16, page 16 in the same Meeting, page 140 in Maxwell.
