Martha Elizabeth (Betty) Stark, daughter of Albert and Lucinda Hart, was born near Eminence on December 6, 1891 and departed this life June 9, 1965 at the age of 73 years, 6 months and 3 days.

She accepted Christ at an early age and lived a devoted Christian life. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Winona.

Her only son died in infancy. She leaves 6 daughters: Daisy Mooney of Eminence, Elva Myers, Jean Weaver, Pauline Smith, Ellen Link and Ethel McDonald, all of Winona; 28 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren, 5 brothers: John Hart of Winona, Bob Melvin and Perry of Van Buren and Alfred of St. Louis; 1 aunt, Laura Parker of Ironton.

In addition to a host of other relatives she leaves countless friends to whom she was known as "Aunt Betty", and because of her special love for children she was known to them as "Granny Stark".
Funeral services were conducted on Friday in the Winona Baptist Church with Brother Holland in charge. Burial was at Mt. Zion under the direction of Duncan Funeral home.
