James LeRoy Hendricks, age 80, died July 25, 1992 in West Valley City, Utah.

He was born November 4, 1911 in Richmond, Utah to George Gideon and Susan E. Tolbert Hendricks. He married Mary A. White in 1939, and was later Divorced in 1942. He married Betty June Naisbitt in 1943; she died in 1946. He married Regina May Lockett Overman in 1961 and they were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple on July 15, 1964; she died in 1986.James grew up in Richmond, Utah; graduated from North Cache High School in 1932; and graduated with honors from the North Cache LDS Seminary in 1930.

James served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a surgical technician, and participated in the Normandy Campaign, Northern France Campaign, and Germany Campaign. He received the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Ribbon with three Bronze Service Stars for valor. He was given a medical discharge from the service on June 11, 1945 due to injuries sustained overseas.

James lived the majority of his life in Salt Lake City, working as a self-made businessman; a distributor for Watkins-Raleigh products. He held many positions in the LDS Church and was an active member of the High Priest's Quorum.

He was well loved and will be missed by family and friends.

James is survived by his son, James LeRoy Waite of Warrensburg, Missouri; James' wife Susan; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Also survived by his stepdaughters, Arloween Cazier of Salt Lake City; Myrna Southerland of West Valley City; Myrna's husband Robert; Dianne Hunt of Salt Lake City; Dianne's husband McGowan; seven stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, 12:00 noon, at Elysian Burial Gardens. Under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.

      William Dale Hendricks, 70, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away February 10, 1990 of a heart attack.

He was born March 3, 1919 in Logan, a son of George Gideon and Metha Marie Christoffersen Hendricks. He married Mary Louise Johnson December 23, 1942 in Walterboro, So. Carolina; marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. He was raised in Richmond and graduated from North Cache High School. He attended Utah State Univ. until joining the U. S. Air Force in 1942. After military service, he worked as an accountant for Del Monte Corp. for 28 years. Following early retirement, he had been doing accounting and tax work at his home. He was a high priest in the LDS Church and served in various organizations.Survived by his wife of Smithfield; four daughters, two sons, Carroll and Joe Comish, Lewiston; Kathryn and Paul Rives, Roy, Utah; Stephen and Pam Hendricks, Farmington, Utah; Barbara Younker, Los Angeles, Calif; Marilyn and Monte Williamson, North Logan; David and Karren Hendricks, Logan; 16 grandchildren; half-brother, James Hendricks, Salt Lake City; sister, Naomi Stelter, Manhattan Beach, Calif. Preceded in death by three brothers, two half-sisters and one half-brother.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Smithfield 6th Ward Chapel with Bishop Douglas Larson conducting. Friends may call at the Allen-Hall Mortuary in Logan Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m. and at the chapel, Wednesday, 11:30-12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Smithfield Cemetery.

Born in Richmond, Cache County, Utah on November 13, 1870 to Herchel Bullen and Emma Boston Gibbs, Herschel Bullen Jr. was raised on a farm near Richmond, Utah. He graduated from the University of Deseret (now the University of Utah) in 1890 and practiced farming and taught school in Richmond and Lewiston, Utah. In 1894 he served an LDS mission as a traveling elder in Sheffield, England. Returning to Logan in 1897, he worked for the Brigham Young College, serving both on the board of trustees and later as the head of the commercial department until 1909. In 1909 Bullen joined other prominent men of northern Utah to form the Promontory-Curlew Land Company which sought to sell as much as 400,000 acres of dryland in Box Elder County, Utah and southern Idaho. He also served as a director in the Allendale Land Company and Panama Sugar Company.

Mr. Bullen's interests extended far beyond his work. He married Mary Hendricks on April 11, 1894 in the Logan Temple and the couple would have five children. He dabbled in journalism and politics. Bullen was active with the Republican Party and served as a State Senator from 1906 through 1908. He was also a chairman of the Cache County Republican City Committee and Cache County Republican Central Committee as well as a member of the State Central Committee. In 1903 he and other local political leaders formed the Logan Republican a regional political publication. Bullen found time to actively serve in the LDS Church as well as in the Logan Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Logan. He died in 1966.

      Lewis James Petty Sr. was born on Jan 11, 1846 at near, Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee. He was the son of Robert Cowan Petty and Margaret Jefferson Wells. Lewis married Alvira Lavona Hendricks, daughter of William Dorris Hendricks and Alvira Lavona Smith, on Feb 8, 1870 at Old Endowment House, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah. Lewis married Rose Belle Pace, daughter of Edwin C. Pace and Mary Jane Atkinson, on Dec 16, 1903 at Logan, Cache County, Utah. Lewis James Petty Sr. died on Aug 29, 1936 at Oxford, Franklin County, Idaho, at age 90. Lewis was buried on Sep 1, 1936 at Oxford Cemetery, Oxford, Franklin County, Idaho.
     

She was the oldest child of William Dorris and Alvira Lavona (Smith) Hendricks. Her girlhood days were spent in Richmond where all who knew her loved her as she was of a happy, cheerful disposition and always made more happy the lives of all with whom she came in contact. On 8 Feb. 1870 she became the wife of LEWIS JAMES PETTY in the old Endowment House in Salt Lake City. He was a son of Robert Cowan and Margaret Jefferson (Wells) Petty and was born 11 Jan. 1846 in Nashville, Tenn. He died 29 Aug. 1926 in Oxford, Ida. where he was buried.

They made their home in Richmond until October 1884 when she and her five children accompanied. her husband to Oxford, Ida. where Brother Petty had been called by Church Authority to be first Counselor to Bishop N. R. Lewis. This call while answered willingly, was not an easy one as it meant giving up their home among their friends and relatives who were so dear to them both,-- especially Grandmother Petty who had lived with them from the day of their marriage and to whom they were.both so devoted and loyal. This was not the first time her faith had been tested, as her husband was called to work on the St. George Temple and she was left alone to care for the home and family for five months during his absence.

Always willing to act in whatever capacity she might be called she was busy at all times in the Ward in which she lived. On 24 May 1889 she was set apart as President of the Primary which position she held and filled faithfully and well until her death which occurred 10 May 1892 at the birth of her child. She was buried in Oxford, Ida.

      Almeda Larsen was born on Nov 20, 1885 at Coveville, Cache County, Utah. She was born on Nov 20, 1885 at Cove, Cache County, Utah. She was the daughter of John Christian Larsen and Mary Ellen Tittensor. Almeda married Alma Hendricks, son of William Dorris Hendricks and Alvira Lavona Smith, on Jun 26, 1907 at Logan Temple, Logan, Cache County, Utah. Almeda Larsen died on Aug 18, 1960 at Richmond, Cache County, Utah, at age 74. Almeda was buried at Richmond City Cemetery, Richmond, Cache County, Utah.
     

He spent his childhood and youth in Richmond, Ut. where he attended school under Edwin Smith and Miss Ida Ione Cook. In 1884, he was a student at Brigham Young University at Provo. At the age of 14 Alma worked with his father, who was the contractor for construction of a railway line from Ogden to Butte, Montana.
He married 1st JULIA DILATE PETTY, daughter of Robert Thomas and Julia Ann Taylor (Wright) Petty, in the Logan Temple, 16 Oct. 1886. She was born 9 Dec. 1867 at Richmond, Ut. She bore him six children. They lived in Rexburg, Ida. in 1891-2. In 1894 he moved to Logan to work in the Central Flour Mill. They moved to Cove in 1898 to operate the High Creek Flour Mill and engage in farming. Julia died 26 Jan. 1906 at Cove, Ut. and was buried in Richmond, Ut. He married 2nd ALMEDA LARSEN 27 June 1907 in the Logan Temple. She was born 20 Nov. 1885 at Cove, Ut., daughter of John Christian and Mary Ellen (Tittensor) Lar­sen. She bore him five children. She died 18 Aug. 1962 in Richmond, Ut. and was buried in Richmond. At Cove, Alma was a school trustee, worked in the Sunday School, and was a counselor in the Bishopric. His latter years were spent in Richmond where he resided in his mother's homestead. He was named for his mother's twin brother, Alma Smith, who was wounded in the Haunts Mill Massacre.
