Warren Ross Anthony, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Anthony, was born July 27, l925, and departed this life at the home of his parents in Sheridan at the age of 9 months and 5 days.
He leaves to mourn their loss his father and mother, one brother and two sisters and a large circle of relatives and friends.
He was a lovable child and made friends of all who knew him. Though a child he bore his afflictions to the end with a patience worthy of one of adult years. Our loss is his gain, for he has gone to join the angels. The funeral was conducted from the Sheridan M.E. church and the body was laid to rest in the Sheridan Cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. Marshall Hulbert.

Mrs. Leslie Anthony of Cedar Rapids was laid to rest in the Sheridan cemetery Saturday afternoon. She was buried beside her infant son who died a year ago.
The funeral service was held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock in the Calvary Baptist church, Cedar Rapids, conducted by Rev. Richard Clearwater. Relatives and friends from the south Tama vicinity attending were Mrs. Ada Anthony, Mr. and Mrs. David Anthony, Mr. and Mrs. Emory Anthony, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kenner, Mrs. Wallace Cloyd, James Spire and daughter, Grace and Mrs. Hilding Johnson, all of Sheridan; Mrs. Jos. Dedrick and Mrs. William Oltrogge of Grinnell.
Lida Viola Moon was born June 12, 1896 in Logansport, Ind., and died Dec. 29, 1938, while a resident of Cedar Rapids, at the age of 42 years, 6 months, and 17 days. She died at 12:52 A.M. Thursday, in the University Hospital, Iowa City, following a long illness.
Following her marriage, Mrs. Anthony lived a short time in the Sheridan neighborhood, and had since lived around Cedar Rapids. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Ruth, David, Mary and Martha; by three brothers, Ernest Moon of Champaign, Ill., Cecil Moon of Decatur, Ill., Harold Moon of Urbana, Ill., and by four sisters, Mrs. Maude Hutchinson, Thomasboro, Ill., Mrs. Mattie Moore, Chicago, Miss Cecila Moon of Hinsdale, Ill., and Mrs. H.M. Wilhite of Denver, Colo.

Funeral services for Daniel Anthony, infant son of Leslie and Lida Anthony of Cedar Rapids, were held Thursday, Dec. 2. Interment was in the Sheridan cemetery.
The baby was born Nov. 30, 1937 at Iowa City. Besides his parents those surviving are three sisters, Ruth, 8, Mary, 4, and Martha, 2 and one brother, David age 7; also one grandmother, Mrs. Ada B. Anthony of Sheridan and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Nathan C. Harries was born near Waukeegan Illinois, April 27, 1860 a nd passed away at the Holton Hospital on January 4, 1943. He came to Kansas with his parents when he was a young boy of eleven years, settling on English Ridge.
He was united in marriage to Mertie Pauline Van Cleave on October 17, 1 883 who departed this life on December 16, 1917.
One son Carl Cameron preceded him December 9, 1918. Uncle Nate as he is called by many relatives and friends was of a kind and cheery disposition and especially fond of little children, and was a man who was worthy of every ones friendship.
He was a kind and loving father and a faithful friends always ready and willing to help others. He leaves to mourn his untimely departure hi s eight children. Mrs. Leila Beach of Holton, Howard, Corning, Kansas. Dean and Ray of Havensville, Mrs. Grace Bramlett of Silver Lake, Mrs. Mae Dailey, Oskaloosa, Van of Bilings, Mont. Myrtle married John Dailey on Jun 3, 1924 at Silver Lake, Shawnee County, Kansas. Myrtle Mae Harries died on Sep 8, 1974 at Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas, at age 82.

Maude married Frank Edward Schane on Jan 27, 1923. Maude married Henry Wade Shove, son of Raymond James Shove and Alta Johnson. HAVENSVILLE -- Mrs Maude I. Shove, 78, Havensville, died Wednesday after she was stricken outside the Baptist church in McLouth after attending funeral services for a niece. She apparently had a heart attack. Born June 12, 1897, in Havensville, Mrs. Shove taught school at Garden City, K ansas City, Onaga and rural Havensville before she retired in 1965. She was a member of Bucks Grove United Methodist church No. 71, Order of the Eastern Star, Onaga. She was president of the Senior Citizens in Onaga.
Her first husband, Frank Schane, died in 1934. Henry Shove, her second husband, survivors. Other survivors include four stepsons, Gene Shove, Urbana, Ill., Noel D. Shove, Boulder, Colo; Cecil R. Shove, Kansas City , and Henry Lee Shove, Milford, Conn; a sister, Mrs. Grace Bramlett, T opeka; and four step great grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Bucks Grove United Methodist church near Havensville. Burial will be in the Onaga City cemetery.
Her body will lie in state until 9 a.m. Saturday in the Stewart Funeral home, Wamego, and from 11 a.m. until service time the casket at the church, after which time the casket will remain closed.
The family will receive friends from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Bucks Grove United Methodist church and sent in care of Mrs. Marion Beightel, Soldier.

      Raymond Shove Harries was born on Mar 26, 1899 at Havensville, Pottawatamie County, Kansas. He was the son of Nathan C. Harries and Mertie P. Van Cleave. Raymond married Rubye Fryebarger.

      Karl Cameron Harries was born on Apr 27, 1901 at Havensville, Pottawatamie County, Kansas. He was the son of Nathan C. Harries and Mertie P. Van Cleave. Karl was buried at Buck's Grove Cemetery, Jackson County, Kansas. He died on Dec 9, 1918 at Havensville, Pottawatamie County, Kansas, at age 17.

      Leila Luella Harries was born on Jul 18, 1884 at Havensville, Pottawatamie County, Kansas. She was the daughter of Nathan C. Harries and Mertie P. Van Cleave. Leila married Alfred Levi Beach on Aug 19, 1903 at Havensville, Pottawatamie County, Kansas. Leila Luella Harries died in Jan, 1972 at Jay County, Indiana, at age 87.

      Alfred Levi Beach was born in 1884. Alfred married Leila Luella Harries, daughter of Nathan C. Harries and Mertie P. Van Cleave, on Aug 19, 1903 at Havensville, Pottawatamie County, Kansas. Alfred Levi Beach died in 1941.

      Gilbert Lee Beach was born on Aug 13, 1908 at Havensville, Pottawatamie County, Kansas. He was the son of Alfred Levi Beach and Leila Luella Harries. Gilbert married Faye Udeane Goodman. Gilbert Lee Beach died on May 25, 1993 at Tuscon, Pima County, Arizona, at age 84.

Services were May 27, 1993, at East Lawn Palms Mortuary in Tucson, Ariz. for Gilbert Lee Beach, 84, Tucson. He died May 25, 1993.
Mr. Beach owned and operated Beach Furniture and Appliance in Tucson until he retired in 1977.
He was born august 13, 1908 in Havensville, the son of Alfred Levi and Leila Harries Beach. Mr. Beach was a member and past master of Oasis Lodge No. 52 AF&AM, a member of Sabbar Shrine and a 33rd degree Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Beach, three daughters, Beverly Boyd and Virginia Reed, both of Tucson, and Gayle Currie, Seattle; two sons, Berkeley Gene Beach, and Gilbert Lynn "Bud" Beach, both of Tucson; a sister, Opal Biester, Holton; two brothers, Edwin Beach, Hughson, Calif., a nd Lyle Beach, Onaga; 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

     Faye married Gilbert Lee Beach, son of Alfred Levi Beach and Leila Luella Harries.

      Richard Obil Beach was born on Jul 19, 1912 at Havensville, Pottawatamie County, Kansas. He was the son of Alfred Levi Beach and Leila Luella Harries. Richard married Alice Burgess on Jun 30, 1937. Richard was buried at Buck's Grove Cemetery, Jackson County, Kansas. He died in Jul, 1950.

BURGESS - BEACH
Miss Alice M. Burgess, daughter of Mr and Mrs Tom Burgess, and Mr Richard Beach, of Manhattan, son of Mr and Mrs Alfred Beach of Havensville, were married on June 30th, 1937 at the Baptist parsonage at 2:30 p.m . by Rev. A. E. Retzer.
The bride, who is a beautiful and charming young lady, wore a three piece hand knitted ensemble of sky blue trimmed in white angora. She wore a corsage of gardenias and white accessories. Her attendant was Miss Ella Gertrude Johnstone, who wore a smart frock of black net trimmed in white. The groom's attendant was Mr. Ward Wright, of Onaga.
The parents of the bride and groom were also present for the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs Beach left immediately for a honeymoon trip to Colorado, after which they will be at home at the Seneca Apartments, 511 North 14t h, Manhattan.
Mrs. Beach is a graduate of the Wamego high school and is a licensed cosmetologist and is employed at the New Style beauty shop at Manhattan.
Mr. Beach graduated from Havensville high school and attended K. S. C . He is employed at the Kipp Electric Supply and Music Store in Manhattan.

     Alice married Richard Obil Beach, son of Alfred Levi Beach and Leila Luella Harries, on Jun 30, 1937.

      Paul Raymond Beach was born on Apr 4, 1917 at Havensville, Pottawatamie County, Kansas. He was the son of Alfred Levi Beach and Leila Luella Harries. Paul married Ella Lillian Neyman. Paul Raymond Beach died in Sep, 1977 at Twin Falls County, Idaho, at age 60. He died on Oct 4, 1977 at age 60.

Opal E. Biester, 89, Holton, died Thursday, December 16, 1993, at a Holton nursing home. Mrs. Biester had been a nurse's aide at a Topeka nursing home.
She was born November 27, 1904, in Havensville, the daughter of Alfred and Leila Harris Beach and lived all her life in the area.
Mrs. Biester was a member of First Baptist Church in Holton and a former member of Ladies Auxiliary to Philip Billard Vaterans of Foreign W ars Post No. 1650 in Topeka.
She was married to Walter Biester December 14, 1927, in Havensville. He died May 12, 1972. Survivors include three daughters, Maurene Barnes , Havensville; Helen Hower, Kansas City, Mo., and Sharon Williams, Topeka; two brothers, Edwin Beach, in California, and Lyle Beach, Onaga; 10 g randchildren, four step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two g reat-great-grandchildren.
Services were at 11a.m. Monday, December 20, in Chapel Oaks Funeral H ome in Holton. Graveside services were at 1 p.m. Monday in Mount Hope cemetery in Topeka.

     George married Opal Evelyn Beach, daughter of Alfred Levi Beach and Leila Luella Harries, on Dec 14, 1927 at Havensville, Pottawatamie County, Kansas. George Walter Beister died on May 12, 1972 at Holton, Jackson County, Kansas.

     Lloyd Lewis Beach was the son of Alfred Levi Beach and Leila Luella Harries. Lloyd married Ora Corrime Potter. Lloyd Lewis Beach died on Jan 18, 1972.

Obit: Lyle Nathan Beach, 83, Onaga, died Wednesday, April 23, 1997, at a Rochester, Minn., hospital.
Mr. Beach worked for the Michigan- Wisconsin Pipeline in Havensville from 1947 until he was transferred to Portland, Ind., in 1964. He also had farmed in the Havensville area. He served in the Navy from 1940 to 1947.
He was born March 6, 1914 on a farm south of Havensville, the son of Alfred and Leila Harries Beach. He was graduated from Havensville High School in 1933. He had lived in Buhel, Idaho, before he joined the Navy. He moved to Onaga from Portland, Ind., in 1980.
Mr. Beach was a member of Trinity Southern Baptist Church in Wamego. He was a life member of Post No. 85 of the American Legion, Post No. 7772 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Lodge No. 188 AF&AM, all in Onaga, York Rite Chapter No. 95 RAM in Bluffton, Ind., Chapter No. 30 RAM, in Muncie, Ind., and Scottish Rite No. 32 AF&AM in Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was married to Lucille Stedman on Jan. 10. 1944, in Seattle, she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Linda Lindsay and Judy Beach, both of Topeka; a son, Lyle Beach, Jr., Bryon, Ohio, a brother, Edwin Beach, Hughson, Ca. and five grandchildren.
Mr. Beach was cremated. Memorial services are pending at Tessendorf-Cha pel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga. Inurnment at Buck's Grove Cemetery south of Soldier will be private. Relatives and friends will meet at the funeral home following the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

      Margaret May Nichols was born on Sep 1, 1904 at Soldier, Jackson County, Kansas. She was the daughter of Orin C. Nichols and Gertrude Elizabeth Booth. Margaret married Robert Ellis on Aug 24, 1920 at Holton, Jackson County, Kansas. Margaret married Howard Henry Harries, son of Nathan C. Harries and Mertie P. Van Cleave, on Mar 23, 1924 at Havensville, Pottawatamie County, Kansas. Margaret May Nichols died on Jan 3, 1994 at Golden Acres Nursing Home, Onaga, Pottawatamie County, Kansas, at age 89. Margaret was buried at Buck's Grove Cemetery, Soldier, Jackson County, Kansas.

Mrs Margaret May Harries, 89, Onaga, died Monday, January 3, 1994, at Golden Acres nursing home where she had been a resident for several years. She was born September 1, 1904 in Soldier, the daughter of Orin and Gertrude Booth Nichols and spent most of her life in Jackson and Pottawatomie counties. Mrs. Harries had worked at Golden Acres nursing home in Onaga two and one half years and later at Onaga community hospital nine and one half years. She was a member of the Congregational church, Ladies Aid at the church, the auxiliary to Post No. 85 of the American Legion, Needlecraft Club, and Senior Center, all in Onaga. She was married to Howard Harries of Havensville March 23, 1924. They farmed south of Corning for 29 years, moving to Onaga in March of 1958. Mr. Harries died in April 1973. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Laura Mae) Thompson, Tacoma, Wash., and Mrs. Marvin (Mary) Cottrell, Onaga; two sons, Raymond Harries, Clarkston, Wash., and Roy Harries, Lawrence; 19 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 26 great great grandchildren; and a brother, Greeley Nichols, Portland, Ore. Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, at the Onaga congregational church. Burial was in Bucks Grove cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Congregational church or Golden Acres nursing home activity fund, both in Onaga.

      Roy C. Harries was born on Apr 3, 1933 at Corning, Nemaha County, Kansas. He was the son of Howard Henry Harries and Margaret May Nichols. Roy married Leone Skiles on Nov 10, 1956 at Corning, Nemaha County, Kansas. Roy C. Harries died on Apr 6, 2004 at age 71.

Oskaloosa — Memorial services for Roy C. Harries, 71, Ozawkie, will be at 3 p.m. today at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Cremation is planned. Private family inurnment will be later.

Mr. Harries died Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at his home after a long illness.

He was born April 3, 1933, in Corning, the son of Howard Henry and Margaret M. Nichols Harries. He graduated from Corning High School in 1951. He lived in Lawrence for 10 years before moving in 1997 to Ozawkie.

Mr. Harried retired from Leavenworth-Jefferson Rural Electric Co-op in McLouth after working 10 years as a manager and 21 years as a lineman. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and had served from 1952 to 1956 in Kodiak Island, Alaska, and aboard the USS Duncan in the Far East. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 225 in Ozawkie and of McLouth United Methodist Church.

He married Leone Skiles on Nov. 10, 1956, in Corning. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Renee Kearney, Valley Falls, and Lori Hickman, Austin, Texas; two sons, Randy, Topeka, and Brad, Oskaloosa; a sister, Mary Cottrell, Onaga; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

      Marie E. Kent was born in 1892. Marie married Dean Sherman Harries, son of Nathan C. Harries and Mertie P. Van Cleave, on Dec 14, 1916 at Havensville, Pottawatamie County, Kansas. Marie E. Kent died in 1965 at Havensville, Pottawatamie County, Kansas.
