Irving married Nettie Snell, daughter of Nelson Snell and Amanda Voorhees, on Aug 8, 1886 at Methodist Parsonage, Fairfield, Herkimer County, New York. Irving Marcellus Darling died on Jan 7, 1927 at Salisbury, Herkimer County, New York, at age 66. Irving was buried at Dolgeville Cemetery, Dolgeville, Herkimer County, New York.
      Irving Marcellus Darling and his wife and children operated various farms in the area surrounding Curtis Corner, New York until 1913, when they purchased a 62 acre farm in the town of Oppenheim, Fulton co., near Dolgeville. After Nettie's death, he sold the farm and Irving took over operation of the Williams farm located near Salisbury Center. There he stayed until his death in January, 1927.

      Clarence Edward Darling was born on Oct 17, 1901 at Salisbury, Fulton County, New York. He was the son of Irving Marcellus Darling and Nettie Snell. Clarence married Emily Hinton Howland on Dec 27, 1939 at Swarthmore, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Clarence Edward Darling died on Jul 7, 1957 at Cleveland Heights, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, at age 55; Heart attack secondary to diabetes.
      Clarence Edward Darling was a chemical engineer and graduated at Rensselaer Poly technical Institute in Troy, New York in 1926. Shortly after graduating he became interested in applying industrial engineering principles to sales problems and served a number of corporations: (1926-27) Public Service Electric & Gas Co, Newark, NJ.

They lived in Wilmington, Delaware when their first child was born. The moved to Scarsdale, New York. In the early fifty's the family moved and lived with Emily's relatives on a farm in Trumansburg, NY. After a year they moved to Euclid, Ohio, and later to Cleveland Heights, Ohio.

      Emily Hinton Howland was born on Nov 7, 1911 at Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. Emily married Clarence Edward Darling, son of Irving Marcellus Darling and Nettie Snell, on Dec 27, 1939 at Swarthmore, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
      In 1919 Emily Hinton Howland at Quaker High School, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. She was graduated at Swarthomore College, Swarthmore, Delaware County, Pennsylvania; majored in history. She was graduated at Drexel University, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; M.S. in Library Science.

      Earl Nelson Darling was born on Dec 19, 1889 at Oppenheim, Fulton County, New York. He was the son of Irving Marcellus Darling and Nettie Snell. Earl married Jennie Roblee on Jun 4, 1911 at Dolgeville, Herkimer County, New York. Earl Nelson Darling died on Apr 18, 1948 at Gloversville, Fulton County, New York, at age 58. Earl was buried at Dolgeville, Herkimer County, New York.
      Earl owned a taxi and bus company that also carried the US mail in the community. It first provided service between Dolgeville and Little Falls. This was later extended to Johnstown, NY. This continued until the garage and equipment were destroyed by fire in 1924. Later the family moved to Johnstown and Gloversville, NY where Earl died .

      Floyd Luther Darling was born on Nov 16, 1890 at Oppenheim, Fulton County, New York. He was the son of Irving Marcellus Darling and Nettie Snell. Floyd married Vida Cool on Jan 15, 1913 at Dolgeville, Herkimer County, New York. Floyd Luther Darling died in Nov, 1918 at Dolgeville, Herkimer County, New York; Flu Epidemic of 1918. Floyd was buried at Dolgeville Cemetery, Dolgeville, Herkimer County, New York.

      Leda was always a family favorite in the Darling family. Her first husband was Mr. Samuel Sweet who was anything but that according to my mother. He forced Leda to obtain an illegal abortion which left her sterile.
