He died on May 20, 1832 at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. John was buried after May 22, 1832 at Upper Burial Ground, Conewago, York now Adams County, Pennsylvania.
     He was also known as John Covenhoven. He was also known as John Couwnover. In the early years of their married life thisfamily lived in ew Jersey, where the first four children were baptised at Neshanic; they the removed to Adams County, Pennsylvania, and attended the Dutch Church at Conewago, abt four miles from Gettysburg, where all except two of their remaing children are recorded. deceased to wit:- William COWNOVER, Garret COWNOVER, Mary, intermarried with Daniel Stag, Hannah, intermarried with John Coshun, Jane, intermarried with Abraham Houghtelin, who both died before the said John, leaving heirs, Maria, intermarried with Daniel Diehl, John C. Houghtelin, and Catherine Houghtelin, of whom George Brinkerhoff, of whom George Brinkerhoff is Guardian, Emily, intermarried with Wm. Ferguson, John COWNOVER, who died before the said Interstate, leaving issue. David COWNOVER, a minor,whose guardian is William COWNOVER, Catharine, intermarried with Joshua Bercaw, Letty, intermarried with Robert McKinney, Betsy, intermarried with David Chamberlain, who died before the said Interstae, leaving issue, Mary Ann Chamberlain, and Hannah Chamberlain, or the guardians of such of them as are minors - to be and appear at the next Orphans' Court, to be held in Gettysburg, for the county of Adams, on the 26th day of November next, to accept or refuse to take the Real Estate of said deceased, at the valuation made thereof, agreeably to the Interstate Laws of this Commonwealth.

      Catherine Coevert was born in 1752. She was the daughter of William Coevert. Catherine married John Cownover, son of John Couwenhoven and Maria Cozine, circa 1772. Catherine Coevert died on Jul 19, 1822 at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Catherine was buried after Jul 19, 1822 at Upper Burial Ground, Conewago, York now Adams County, Pennsylvania.
     She was also known as Catherine Covert. She was also known as Catriena Coevert. Page 158.--In the name of God, Amen. I, WILLIAM COEVERT, being weak of body. I leave to my daughter, Catharine Covenhoven, œ40 with all her deceased mothers Clothes. All my estate to be sold six weeks after my death, and the money, except for œ15 reserved for oldest son, Jeremias, as his birthright, to be divided between my two sons, Jeremias and Johannes, the formers share to be kept by my Executors and given him as necessity may require.

     Annetje Couwenhoven was the daughter of John Couwenhoven and Maria Cozine. Annetje married Cornelius Quick II, son of Cornelius Quick and Mary Williamson, on Dec 11, 1771 at St. Andrews Church, Ringoes, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.
     Annetje Couwenhoven was also known as Anne Covenhoven.

     Maria Cownover was baptized on Jun 6, 1773 at Somerset County, New Jersey. She was baptized on Jun 6, 1773 at Neshanic, Somerset County, New Jersey. She was the daughter of John Cownover and Catherine Coevert. Maria married Daniel Stagg, son of Captain James Stagg and Lea Brouwer, on Mar 13, 1792 at Conewago, York now Adams County, Pennsylvania. Maria Cownover died on Feb 26, 1864 at Mercer County, Kentucky, at age 90.
     She was also known as Mary Cownover. She was also known as Maria Covenhoven.

     Daniel Stagg was baptized on Jul 9, 1769 at Dutch Reformed Church, Schraalenburgh, Bergen County, New Jersey. He was the son of Captain James Stagg and Lea Brouwer. Daniel married Maria Cownover, daughter of John Cownover and Catherine Coevert, on Mar 13, 1792 at Conewago, York now Adams County, Pennsylvania. Daniel Stagg died in 1847 at Harrodsburg, Mercer County, Kentucky. He died on Oct 26, 1856 at Mercer County, Kentucky, at age 87.

     Annatje Cownover was baptized on Oct 9, 1774 at Neshanic, Somerset County, New Jersey. She was the daughter of John Cownover and Catherine Coevert.

      Janitie Cowenover was born in 1772. She was baptized on Apr 8, 1776 at Neshanic, Somerset County, New Jersey. She was the daughter of John Cownover and Catherine Coevert. Janitie married Abraham Houghtelin, son of Hezekiah Houghtaling and Maria De Graaf, in May, 1809. Janitie Cowenover died on Oct 15, 1815 at age 39. She died before 1832.
     She was also known as Jane Cownover. She was also known as Jennie Cowenover. She was also known as Jennie Cownover. She was also known as Janetje Covenhoven. She was also known as Jans Cowenover.

     Aritje Cownover was baptized on Feb 1, 1778 at Neshanic, Somerset County, New Jersey. She was the daughter of John Cownover and Catherine Coevert.

     Lammetie Couenover was baptized on Oct 10, 1779 at Dutch Reformed Church, Conewago, York now Adams County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of John Cownover and Catherine Coevert.
     Lammetie Couenover was also known as Lammetje Covenhoven.
