Donald L. Paulhamus, 88, of 85 Valley Lane, Linden, died Friday, November 30, 2007 at the Gatehouse following a brief illness.

He and his wife, the former Elizabeth (Betty) Robinson observed their 66th wedding anniversary on June 6, 2007.

Don attended Fairlawn Community Church, was a life member of the Masonry Block and Brick Union and was a loving husband and father.

He did masonry work for Lundy and Gehron Constructions, as well as farming.

Born Feb. 28, 1919 in Lycoming Twp., Lycoming Co., he was the son of Verus L. and Della V. Roller Paulhamus.

Surviving in addition to his wife are son, Kent L. of Linden; daughter, Linda L. (Gary A.) Farnsworth of Linden; brother, Max L. of Linden; sister, Stella S. Coles of Alabama, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, Clair R.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the church, 353 Pleasant Hill Road, Cogan Station, with Pastor John W. Brokopp Sr. officiating. Burial will be at State Road Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 11 a.m. to the time of the service.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions be made to the church.

Bob Ringwald's 'not so brief' Bio:

Robert Scott (Bob) Ringwald was born November 26, 1940 in a small community 14 miles northeast of Sacramento, California which later became Citrus Heights. Rumors of his virgin birth, being abandoned by wolves and being raised by parents, living in a log cabin, chopping down a cherry tree, throwing a half dollar across the Potomac River and walking 10 miles to and from school (uphill both ways) in the snow are grossly exaggerated.

Bob was interested in music from a very early age and began playing piano at 8 and guitar at 10. This was tough because he had to go to bed at 7.

His first "Paying Gig" was at the age of 12 playing with the Sutter Junior High School Dance Band of Sacramento, for a Mormon Church New Year's Eve youth dance in Roseville, CA.

He, along with guitarist Jerry Jaccobs, formed his own band, "The Rhythmaires," at the age of 13 and continued to lead various bands until 1995.

At the age of 17 he grew a beard in order to look older to fool the ABC (California State Alcoholic Beverage Control) officers into letting him work in nightclubs. At that time in California, you had to be 21 to work where alcohol was being served.

Bob quickly earned a reputation as a leading traditional jazz pianist. He worked at many night clubs in the Sacramento area including 15 1/2 years at the famous Capone's Chicago Tea Room and Pizza Joint, 7 1/2 years at Sam's Town, Cameron Park, California, and was a semi-regular intermission pianist for Turk Murphy's famous San Francisco night spot, Earthquake McGoon's, from 1970 to 1973.

In 1967 Bob Joined The Boondockers at the El Rancho Motel in West Sacramento on Monday nights. The Boondockers are a Skiffle/Honky-Tonk/Jazz/Comedy group. They reorganized in 1998 and are rapidly becoming popular at conventions, private parties and jazz festivals.

In 1968 he appeared in the Monterey Dixieland Festival with Sugar Willie And The Cubes. Also on the show were the original Dukes of Dixieland, Bob Crosby and the Bobcats, Turk Murphy's San Francisco Jazz Band, Clancy Hayes and Louis Armstrong.

In 1961 he took up banjo and quickly became proficient on that instrument. In 1963 he appeared with the Sacramento Banjo Band on Gary Moore's network TV show, "I've Got a Secret."

Bob, along with Jerry Kehele, Bill Borcher and other Sacramento area Jazz musicians and enthusiasts, helped found the Sacramento Traditional Jazz Society in 1968 and the now internationally famous Sacramento Jazz Jubilee in 1974. He served on the Music Committee for the Jubilee until his relocation to Los Angeles in the fall of 1978.

In the mid '60s he organized the Bob Ringwald Jazz Band, which was renamed "The Fulton Street Jazz Band" on Sunday, March 14, 1971. He led the group for 15 years, recorded four albums and, along with the other members of the band, consumed 1,823 kegs of beer, mostly orally.

Bob left the Fulton Street Jazz Band in 1978 to move to Los Angeles. After he left the band, the FSJB became even more popular - Could this be a mere coincidence???

During his 17-year sojourn in Los Angeles, he founded the Great Pacific Jazz Band, which boasted such great musicians as Zeke Zarchy on trumpet and Bob Havens on trombone. In 1988, the band recorded one of the first Traditional Jazz CDs to be released, "The Great Pacific Jazz Band", "The Music Of Louis Armstrong."

Bob served as band committee chairman for the Los Angeles Classic Jazz Festival (renamed the Los Angeles Sweet and Hot Music Festival in 1988) and for 16 1/2 years, hosted a weekly jazz radio show titled "Bob Ringwald's Bourbon Street Parade" on KCSN 88.5FM Los Angeles.

Along with trombonist Jim Beebe, he co-led the Bob Scobey Frisco Band (Reunion Band) at the Los Angeles Classic Jazz Festival, September 2-5, 1988 and at the Big Horn Jazz Festival, Chicago February 17-19, 1989.

In 1995, Bob, along with his wife Adele, moved back to the Sacramento area where he once again is active and in much demand in the Northern California jazz scene.

On December 1, 1998 after a 20 year absence, he rejoined the Fulton Street Jazz Band, the band that he organized some 33 years before.

In 1998, Bob appeared in the movie "Twice Upon a Time" with his daughter Molly. In the film, Bob was cast as a saloon piano player -- Type casting, eh?

Throughout Ringwald's musical career, he has always subscribed to the motto:

"If my music does not come up to your standards, lower your standards."

Bob is a licensed Amateur (ham) Radio operator with the call sign K6YBV and the proud father of three children, Beth, Kelly, and the actress Molly Ringwald, a grandson, Chance Podrasky and a granddaughter, Mathilda Ringwald Gianopoulos.

Currently he is working on a new recording project which will be titled, "Bob Ringwald Plays The Music Of Tab Hunter".

      Born on 18th February 1968, Roseville California. Molly is the youngest daughter of the blind jazz pianist Bob Ringwald.
Determined to succeed right from the start the young Molly was soon making notable appearances in her fathers Dixieland Band, The Fulton Street Jazz Band from Sacramento, Ca. In fact she even released her first album at the age of six titled "I Wanna Be Loved By You, Molly Sings".

At the age of five she starred in a stage production of "Alice in Wonderland" playing the dormouse. She also managed to land herself a place on TV's "New Mickey Mouse Club" at the age of eight.

Her big break came in the West Coast Production of "Annie" when she was ten years old. She then went on to appear in NBC's "The Facts of Life" playing the role of 'Molly Parker'. Although she was axed from the show after a year and was out of work for the next twelve months, it was still a start and she had now been recognized.

In 1982 she was to star in her first film, "Tempest", which was loosely based on Shakespeare's play. It was not what you would call a box office success, but it was enough for Molly to find herself in demand.

After appearing in a couple of low budget movies, "P.K. and the Kid", "Packin It In", and "Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone", Molly was teamed up with Director John Hughes in the smash hit "Sixteen Candles". Molly played the role of Samantha, a teenager who's parents just happen to have forgotten her 16th birthday. The guy she's in love doesn't seem to know she exists! This instantly gained Molly a new legion of fans and the film went on to capture a huge following in the U.S.A.

Her success was to continue with "The Breakfast Club" in which she was a spoilt princess (brat) who has to spend her Saturday in detention along with Judd Nelson, Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall, and Ally Sheedy. This was to make more money than it's predecessor, "Sixteen Candles".

Then came her biggest hit. The romantic comedy "Pretty in Pink" which was to be her last film with director John Hughes. Molly starred as Andie, the girl from the wrong side of the tracks. She was in love with Blane who seems to be completely out of her reach. It seemed that Molly could do no wrong and had become a firm favourite with her young audience.

In Molly's next film "The Pick Up Artist" starring Robert Downey Jr, Molly was top billed once again, but the film unfortunately was reported to be a flop. In fact Warren Beatty even took his name off the credits after he had developed it.

In 1988 Molly began to choose more mature roles starring in "For Keeps" opposite Randall Batinkoff as two young teenage lovers having a baby, and "Fresh Horses" with Andrew McCarthy in a tale of love across the tracks.
Unfortunately it seemed that the audience didn't want to see their favourite teen virgin all grown up.

Next were the movies "Strike it Rich" and "Betsy's Wedding", followed by two tv roles "Women And Men: Stories Of Seduction" and "Something To Live For: The Alison Gertz Story". In "Something To Live For", Molly took on the challenging role of real life Aids victim Alison Gertz and won much praise for her brave portrayal.

Molly then headed off to Paris where to film her latest movie "Face the Music" with the wonderful Patrick Dempsey.
As it turned out France became Molly's new home for almost the next four years. She had originally intended going for a working holiday but relishing the peace and quiet where she was virtually unknown, not to mention meeting her long time love and her now husband Valery Lameignere, she decided to stay.

Missing her family and friends she decided to return to the U.S.A. and attempt to revive her career.

The thriller "Malicious" was a totally different type of role for Molly, starring as the fatal Melissa Nelson who becomes obsessed by a one night stand. Her fans had to accept the fact she had now grown up.

Then came her sitcom "Townies" which Molly described as 'Friends for the Roseanne set'. The series received glowing reviews and was an apparent success. It seemed that Molly had finally got her career back on track even though the series was later cancelled.

Since then Molly has worked steadily appearing in movies, Tv shows and even a stage production of "How I Learned To Drive" off Broadway in New York City and later for a limited run in Los Angeles.

On film screens Molly was last seen in "Cut" with Australian popstar and actress Kylie Minogue, and a cameo appearance in the teen spoof "Not Another Teen Movie"

Molly found her match in her private life, marrying her long time fiance Valery Lameignere in July 28, 1999 near Bordeaux France, they later Divorced in 2002.
Shortly after she met her boyfriend, writer and book editor Panio Gianopoulos and the two now have a baby girl together, Mathilda Ereni, born 22 October 2003.

Molly has turned to stage in recent years and has made notable appearances in Tick, Tick, Boom, Enchanted April on the Broadway circuit and received rave reviews as Sally Bowles in the hit show "Cabaret".

She is currently performing in the London's West End production of When Harry Met Sally.

The future once looked uncertain for Molly, but now it seems her fans are behind her once again and with Molly's determination she has what it takes to make it big again.
