Rev. Elias Samuel Schenck was born on May 3, 1813 at Bound Brook, Somerset County, New Jersey. He was the son of David Schenck and Ann Van Court. Elias married Anna (Unknown). Rev. Elias Samuel Schenck died at Beaver Meadow, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.
He ordained at Perth Amboy, Middlesex County, New Jersey, Jan 16, 1838. He resided at at Danbury, Fairfield County, Connecticut, between 1851 and 1859; where he purchased and ran an institute (Danbury Academy at one time prior). He at The Presbyterian Church of Wells and Columbia, Aspenwall now Coryland, Bradford County, Pennsylvania, between 1877 and 1880. The fiftieth anniversary of the life of a nation, church or individual, is an event of no small importance. Believing this, after consulting the officers, members and friends of the Presbyterian Church of Wells and Columbia, the present pastor invited the former ministers, members and friends, to a reunion and celebration on the 22nd day of February, 1882. He also desired Rev. Joel Jewell, who had labored here sixteen years, to deliver a historical discourse.
The exercises commenced on the evening of February 21st, by a sermon from Rev. Elias S. Schenck, a former pastor. At 11 o’clock A.M., on the 22nd Mr. Jewell delivered the historical address, to a large and deeply interested congregation. By vote of the assembly, a copy of the discourse was solicited for publication. After the address, a bountiful lunch was served by the ladies, in the Odd Fellows’ Hall. Then the concourse returned to the house of the Lord, to enjoy a pleasant re-union - a lively reminiscence meeting, interspersed with singing. Brief speeches were made by pastors, Jewell, Califf, Jervis, Schenck, Armstrong, and S. P. Gates of Canton. Brother Entwissel, of the Baptist church of Columbia and Wells, also presented congratulations and good wishes. We were permitted to hear from T. Manley and J. O. Randall, of Canton; E. E. Dillistin, of Elmira; and J. J. Vannoy, of West Burlington. Letters were likewise read from absentees. In the evening a sermon was preached by Rev. S. A. Califf.
The friends of the society desire to put the history of the church, so diligently and ably gathered up by Father Jewell - who is now in his eightieth year - into a permanent form, for the benefit of succeeding generations, as well as the present; and for the glory of God, who sometimes honors "the day of small things."

He joined the military in The Naval Air Reserves.When he retired from the Military he had ros e to the rank of Captain. Being a pilot was one of his greatest loves. Often he would recount stories of the planes and placed of WWII. After WWII, he worked as a crop duster until geting a job with Enstrom Corp (later Boeing Aviation) as a helicopter test pilot. During his career with Beoing, he rose to Vice President of North American Sales for their helicopter di vision. He was laid off in 1970 due to the US Government/Military downsizing its helicopter fleet.
Fred Hill then moved to Florida, Brevard County. He had been introduced to the area while st ationed at the BananaRiver Naval Air Station (later Patrick Air Force Base). Nearby was Cape Canaveral.
Fred was primarily self-employed. He ran Pathfinder Enterprises,which he started while living in Michigan. He owned the rights to Rust-Stop.He was gifted when it came to making money in real estate.
Fred died in 1986 from Pancreatic cancer.

Mr. Hill was born in Oak Park, Ill., Dec. 5, 1932 , the son of Frederick A. Hill Jr. and Helen M. Flack. He attended the University of Illinois where he was a member of Alpha Delta Phi fraternity. After graduating in 1956, with a degre e in mechanical engineering, he married Judith J. Hedge of Jamestown, Ind., June 30, 1966. The couple moved to Aberdeen, Md., where Mr. Hill was stationed with the United States Army a s a lieutenant. Following his discharge, Mr. Hill and his wife moved to Hinsdale and starte d a family. Mr. Hill worked in sales at Mack Trucks for 17 years and was a real estate investor in Hinsdale and northern Michigan. He spent summers at the family home on Torch Lake, wher e his family has vacationed since 1897. Mr. Hill was a lifelong classic boat enthusiast. As a youth he raced outboard motor boats. In recent years, he was active in the Masons and Shriners, and volunteered with the Meals-on-Wheels program. Mr. Hill is survived by Judith, his wife of 46 years; sons David Jr. of Bellaire, Steven (Jill) of Lake Forest, Ill., and John (Michelle) of Little Rock, Ark; grandchildren Elizabeth, Olivia, and Peter Hill of Lake Forest, and Ethan Hill of Little Rock. Services were April 10 at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Commission on Aging or Helena Township Library.

Mr. Hill is survived by Judith, his wife of 46 years; sons David Jr. of Bellaire, Steven (Jill) of Lake Forest, Ill., and John (Michelle) of Little Rock, Ark; grandchildren Elizabeth, Olivia, and Peter Hill of Lake Forest, and Ethan Hill of Little Rock. Services were April 10 at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Commission on Aging or Helena Township Library.
