Miss Bertha E. Manners, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James S. Manners of 735
East State street, and Edgar Swick of New Germantown, N. J., were married
yesterday at the home of the bride's parents.
The ceremony took place at high noon and was performed by the Rev. Lin-
ius L. Strock, pastor of the Bethany Presbyterian Church. The parlors of
the Manners' home were prettily decorated with ferns and palms and flow-
ers. The bride was attired in pearl lansdowne, trimmed with applique lace.
She carried a bouquet of white roses. The maid of honor was Miss Ella Folk
of Florence. She wore white silk, over pink muslin, and carried a bouquet of
carnations. The best man was William Coryell. The wedding march was
played by Miss Florence Shoenthaler.
Mr. and Mrs. Swick left Trenton on the 3:45 train for Bayonne, N. J., where
they will take up their residence. Mr. Swick is employed as a stenographer
and typewriter in New York. The bride was the recipient of many hand-
some presents.

Paul Manners Edwards, (Lt Col, USMC, retired) the son of Paul Duncan Edwards and Verda Manners Edwards, passed away suddenly at his home in Austin, Texas December 22, 2007 at the age of 82.

After 29 years of active duty service in the Marine Corps, Paul moved to Austin where he was an avid bowler and fisherman in his retired years and his gregarious personality was enjoyed by all. A loving husband and father, he is survived by Lynne, his wife of 59 years and his daughters, Linda Edwards and Cathy Edwards Mikeska, and son-in-law Gary Mikeska.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 28th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2007 in the Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Interment will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet.
