Sarah "Frances" Weinand, 95, of Elsberry, and a former Troy resident, died Thursday (June 24, 2004) at Elsberry Health Care Center.

Mrs. Weinand had worked as a phone operator until her marriage, when she became a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church, where she organized and directed the first Junior Choir. She also was a member of the United Methodist Women and Evangeline Club.

A funeral service was held Monday at St. Stephen United Methodist Church in Troy. Burial was at Troy City Cemetery.

Among survivors are a daughter, Alice Ann Younger of Troy; two grandchildren and twin great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Stephen United Methodist Church in care of Kemper-Marsh-Millard Family Funeral Home, 351 Monroe Street, Troy, Mo. 63379.
