      Allen Gardner Smith was born on Apr 24, 1936 at Rexburg, Madison County, Idaho. He was the son of Thomas X. Smith and Arvilla Allen. Allen married Patricia Kay Brinkerhoff, daughter of William Varsal Brinkerhoff and Olive Hicks, on May 12, 1961 at Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah.
