SIGOURNEY - Lynn S. Bower, 68, of Sigourney, died Thursday, Feb. 5, at Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney. His funeral service was held this morning, Feb. 9, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney, the Rev. Philip Ryan officiating. Burial: St. Mary Cemetery in Sigourney. Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney is in charge of arrangements. A memorial fund has been established.

Lynn S. Bower was born July 6, 1935, near Webster to Levi and Ila Gosney Bower. He graduated from Webster High School in 1954. He married Marjorie Ann Peiffer on April 16, 1955, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Clear Creek. They lived near South English and he worked at Amana, and worked for many area farmers. They moved to Sigourney in 1960. He owned and operated Bower Bulldozing for many years. He was a member of St. Mary Church in Sigourney, and the International Order of Oddfellows in Sigourney. He loved to fish and hunt.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; three daughters: Anna Broerman of Oskaloosa, Sandy Bower of Lynnville, and Helen Miles of Runnells; three sons: Nick and Pat Bower of Larkspur, Colo., and Ron Bower of Oskaloosa; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters: Louella Bower of Sigourney and Nancy Bower of Oskaloosa; and a brother, Albert Bower of Sigourney.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
