Shirley I. Crouse, 77, of 1504 Hepburn Street, Williamsport, died Monday, September 3, 2007, in the Williamsport Hospital. She was the widow of Ralph E. Crouse, Jr., who died in 1999.

Born June 30, 1930, in Rose Valley, she was a daughter of Elmer and Rheta Sellers Stroble.

Shirley was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church and the Wheel Inn.

Surviving are six children: Robert E. (Diane) Crouse of Trout Run, Lonna R. (Rick) Thomas of city, Rod W. (Patricia Dougherty) Crouse, with whom she lived, Tina L. (Chip) Woodside of city, Jana L. (Dave) Croucher of Hughesville and Juan Merced of Buford, Ga; eight grandchildren, Michelle, Melissa, Marcia, Brent, Chad, Tyler, Kailyn and Andrea; and a sister, Marietta Johnson of Cogan Station. Shirley was preceded in death by four siblings, Marie, Nile and LaVerne Stroble and Robert Sellers.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday from New Hope Church, 1157 Market Street, with the Rev. Richard D. Waters officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Valley Cemetery.
