Grace,daughter of Caroline Rebecca Grundy and Harman "Harry" Hanna, was born on July 29,1894 in Chaparral, Arizona. Harmon was the first Postmaster of the Chaparral Post Office established on May 24, 1894. Grace learned the ways of life in Arizona territory from birth and was molded by these early experiences in the mining community of Chaparral and later lived in Prescott and Kingman.
Grace married Mr. Armstrong, about whom little is known, and the couple had a son, Raymond. After Mr. Armstrong's death she married Joseph Mosby Peggs on August 3, 1919 at Wickeburg, Arizona. Grace and Joseph had two children, Joseph Gideon born November 17, 1920 and Margie Lou born April 15, 1925. The family resided in Kingman, Arizona until 1932.
Mr Peggs was regarded as one of the leading Certified Public Accountants of the State, a member of the Eleventh Legislature and was appointed Director of the State Income Tax Division.
During the course of Joseph's career the family resided both in Phoenix and Tucson. Grace was an active member of the Methodist Church in addition to being a wife and homemaker The tales of her pioneer life as a young girl thrilled her grandchildren when they were young and to her family she became the symbol of loving strength, fortitude and determination in her proud Arizona family.
Grace died on October 24, 1953 in San Ysidro, California and is buried inthe Evergreen Cemetery in Tuscon, Arizona.
