Glenna Robertson Bowthorpe, age 86, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 16, 2008.

Glenna was born on Christmas Day, 1921, in Jackson, Wyoming to James M. Robertson and Tabitha “Beth” Ricks Robertson.

She served a mission for the LDS church in the Southern States Mission. There she met Kenneth F. Bowthorpe, also serving a mission. When they both returned home, they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 27, 1951. They recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. Ten years later, they adopted their daughter, Sherene, who was the light of Glenna’s life.

Glenna was a bookkeeper and office manager for different car dealers throughout her life and retired at the age of 75. She was a wonderful cook, wife and mother.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; daughter, Sherene; two brothers, Warren Robertson (Helen) and Orland Robertson (Lillian); and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 12 Noon at the Granite Park 2nd Ward, 9245 S. Quail Run Dr., Sandy, UT. A viewing will be held Monday, October 20th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street and again on Tuesday at the church one hour prior to services. Interment: Mtn. View Memorial, 3115 Bengal Blvd.
