ISAAC H. SCHENCK, one of the prominent pioneers of Brown Township, is a natve of Butler County, Ohio, born Dec.27, 1815, a son of Samuel and Mary (Hoffman) Schenck. When he was thirteen years of age his parents moved to Marion County, Ind., where he grew to manhood. In 1841 he settled in the woods of Hendricks County, entering the sixty acres of land on section16, Brown Township, which is now his valuable farm. He has been one of the enterprising, public-spirited men of the township, and has assisted materially in its development. He has served several years as Township Trustee, and as Justice of the Peace four years. Mr. Schenck was married April 22, 1841 to Nancy J. Harris, daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth Harris, of Marion County, Ind. formerly Kentucky. To them have been born eleven children, eight of whom are living---Rebecca A., Caroline, Levi H., Riley, James V., Nora C., Thomas J. and George. The deceased are---Mary E., Tilman H. and Ellen M. "RILEY SCHENCK, 89 DIES EARLY TODAY - Services Sunday at Old Mt Tabor"

"Riley Schenck, age 89 years passed away this morning at 3:50 o'clock at his home two miles south of Herr Station in Hendricks county. He spent his entire life in that county and his late home was just across the road from the home in which he was born.

Mr. Schenck was married three times and his wives all preceded him in death. His first marriage was to Mary Beaman, his second to Mary Schenck and his third to Maggie Mann. He was a member of the Poplar Grove church. He had no children of his own but he reared in his home two nieces and a nephew, Mrs. Maude Schenck Hiland, who was caring for him at the time of his death, Mrs. Lillie Pitser Schenck and Herman Schenck. The nephew is deceased. He also leaves three step-children, Ola Cox of Indianapolis, John Schenck of near Pittsboro and Oma Smith.

Funeral services will be held Sunday morning at 10:30 o'clock at Old Mt. Tabor Church with the Rev. Homer Chastain officiating. Burial will be in Old Mt Tabor cemetery. Friends may call at the residence from Saturday morning until time of the services at the church."

"George Schenck, 71 years of age, passed away this morning at 10:20 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. R. O. Hiland, at New Brunswick. He had been in failing health the last seven years. Mr. Schenck was born in Hendricks County, a son of Harvey and Nancy Harrison Schenck (should be Harris). He came to Lebanon forty four years ago and with the exception of two years in St. Joseph County had made his home in Boone County. He had resided with his daughter at New Brunswick the past two years. He was a member of the Methodist Church at Corinth in Hendricks County."
