Asa T. Davison Jr., 89, a lifelong Cranbury resident, died yesterday in the Elms Nursing Home, Cranbury.

A service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the First Presbyterian Church of Cranbury.

Mr. Davison was a farmer in Cranbury for most of his life.

He was a lifelong member and former officer at the First Presbyterian Church of Cranbury. He was also a member of the Grange 96 and Apollo Lodge 41, both in Hightstown.

Mr. Davison was a member of the New Jersey Pomona Grange and New Jersey State Grange. He was an officer with the New Jersey Farm Credit and the New Jersey Farm Land Bank Association in Freehold.

Surviving are a daughter, Doris D. Parry; a son, Harold; sisters, Meribah D. Busby and Lois D. Robbins; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Voorhees was born on his father's farm near Old Church schoolhouse. Monroe township, Middlesex county, N. J., October 25, 1364. He attended school at Old Church until at the age of seventeen years and then finished his school days at the Brainard Institute at Cranbury. N. J. He stayed on the farm with his parents until he was twenty-five years of age, then married and went farming for himself on one of his father's farms. In 1893 he bought a farm near Cran­bury, where he now lives. In 1902 he was elected a member of the Board of Education of Cranbury town­ship and still holds that position. In 1903 he was a member of the Republican County Committee for Mid­dlesex county. He was appointed to the position of clerk to the Committee on Printed Bills of the Senate In 1906. He has always been active in looking after the best interests of the community In which he lives and the Republican party in his county, to which he has always belonged. Ills honest dealings with his party and active interest taken for his community have made him many friends. He is a member of Cranbury Council, No. 60, Jr..0. U. A. M.. and flights- town Lodge. No. 96. Patrons of Husbandry, also a member of Middlesex County Board of Agriculture. and one of the directors of the board. He was re­elected to the Assembly by a plurality of 1,727 over Ramsay. the highest candidate on the Democratic ticket. Last year he served on the Committees on Municipal Corporations.       Annie Ely was born in Dec, 1867. She was the daughter of John V. Ely and Mary E. Bennet. Annie married William Clark Voorhees, son of Daniel McLean Voorhees and Matilda Dey, on Dec 16, 1888 at First Presbyterian Church, Cranbury, Middlesex County, New Jersey. Annie Ely died in 1957. Annie was buried at Brainerd Cemetery, Cranbury, Middlesex County, New Jersey.

      Harvey McLean Voorhees was born on Feb 10, 1866 at Middlesex County, New Jersey. He was the son of Daniel McLean Voorhees and Matilda Dey. Harvey McLean Voorhees was baptized at First Presbyterian Church, Cranbury, Middlesex County, New Jersey. Harvey married Cora Marsh on Apr 25, 1888. Harvey McLean Voorhees died on Jul 29, 1938 at age 72.
     

Harvey McLean Voorhees. the fourth child of Daniel McLean and Matilda Ann (Dey) Voorhees was bom on a farm near Cranbury, Middlesex Counly, New Jersey, February 14. 1866, While yet a mere boy attending the common schools he contrived the idea of becoming a merchant. and after a short course at the Brainard Institute, Cranbury, he prevailed upon his father to allow him to seek Ins fortune in mercantile pursuits.. Accordingly he secured a position with D. C. Perine. in Freehold, in 1882, where he gained a fair knowldge of the dry goods business. at least sufficient to enable him to secure position with C. I. Baumgartner, in 1884, who was then cenducting a store at 19 East State Street, Trenton. Here Mr. Voorhees remained for thirteen years, and was by reason of his ability and faithfulness promoted from clerk to manager which latter position he resigned in 1897. On March 4 of that same year he embarked in business for himself, leasing the business house at No. 6 Broad street, Trenton, and there his good business methods advanced his trade to such an extent that at the end ol six months he was compelled to seek larger quarters for his rapidly growing operations. He next removed to No.109 East State Street, and after two years leased the store at No 10 South Broad Street, and connected it with the State street Store. In 1901 he formed a partnership with his younger brother. Edmund D. Voorhees. and in 1904 the spacious stores at Nos. 111 and 113 East State Street were added to the establishment. in which is carried a large. well-selecited stock of clothing and furnishings for women and children. He is an elder in Prospect Street Presbyterian Church, and assistant superintendent of the Sunday school connected there with. He is a member of Trenton Lodge No 5, Free and Accepted Masons; Trenton Council, Junior Order of United American Mechanics, Knights of Malta, and the National Union. In politics he is a staunch supporter of the Republican party. Having early in his career chosen a laudable calling, he ever labored for the success with which good management has long since crowned him.

In 1888 Mr. Voorhees was united in marriage to Cora Marsh, daughter of Augustus and Martha Marsh, of Trenton. They reside at No. 806 West State street.

Edmund Dey Voorhees, the junior partner of the firm of H. M. Voorhees & Brother, of Trenton, is the youngest son of Daniel McLean and Matilda Ann (Dey) Voorhees. He was born July 20, 1870, in Middlesex county, New Jersey. on the old Voorhees Homestead. After attend­ing Peddie Institute, at Hightstown, he entered the Stewart & Hammond Business College, at Trenton, and after finishing his course at that school in April, 1901, he accepted a position in the First National Bank, Hightstown, New Jer­sey, where he remained until February 1, 1901, when he formed a partnership with his brother, Harvey M. Voorhees, which relation still exists. The forming of the partnership proved wise, as the business of the firm has grown in the past four years until the establishment is recognized in the mercantile world as one of the most complete of its kind in this section of the state. Mr. Voorhees is a trustee in the Prospect Street Pres­byterian Church of Trenton, and politically is a staunch supporter of the Republican party. He is a member of the National Union.

He married, in 1896 Lulu Corinna Burtis, of Allentown, New Jersey, daughter of John Wyckoff and Lillian (Finley) Burtis. Their children are: Calvin, born February 19, 1898, died February 27, 1898. Raymond Burtis, born October 28, 1899. Edmund McLean, born May to. 1905.

Elizabeth married Clelland Friddle, son of William Rollin Friddle and Julia Cline, on Sep 7, 1926 at Lincoln, Illinois; 4 children. Elizabeth Abigail White died in May, 1978 at age 70. She died on May 23, 1978 at age 70.

      Clelland Friddle was born on Sep 4, 1904 at Illinois. He was the son of William Rollin Friddle and Julia Cline. Clelland Friddle was born on Sep 4, 1907 at New Douglas, Madison County, Illinois. Clelland married Elizabeth Abigail White, daughter of Harry Jehu White and Reba Maria Snell, on Sep 7, 1926 at Lincoln, Illinois; 4 children. Clelland Friddle died on May 4, 1979 at Kenosha, Kenosha County, Wisconsin, at age 74.
