JAMES H. DAVISON (deceased) was born in New Jersey, September 7, 1822, and is a son of William and Susan (Dillentosh) Davison, who settled in Woodcock Township, this county, in 1825, locating on the farm now owned by John George, Jr., which they cleared and improved. James H., our subject, was a shoe-maker by trade, but generally followed agricultural pursuits. He was united in marriage, January 22, 1855, with Mary M., daughter of David and Catherine (Carr) Hunter, who were among the early settlers of this township. To this union were born five children: William H., Catherine (deceased), Robert G., Dora D. (deceased) and Eliza J. (deceased). Mr. Davison, during the war of the Rebellion, enlisted in 1862 in the Ninth Pennsylvania Reserves, and died in the hospital of typhoid pneumonia, November 11, 1862, after two months' service. For many years he had been a member of the Presbyterian Church at Woodcock. In politics he was a Republican.

      Charles Grubb was born on Nov 8, 1822 at Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Daniel Grubb and Catherine Graff. Charles Grubb was baptized on Dec 22, 1822 at Egypt Reformed Church, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. Charles married Dinah Davison, daughter of Willaim D. Davison and Susannah Dillatash, on Aug 16, 1846 at Crawford County, Pennsylvania. Charles Grubb died on Oct 17, 1903 at Hamilton County, Illinois, at age 80. Charles was buried at Montebello Cemetery, Montebello Twp., Hancock County, Illinois.
     He was also known as Carl George Grubb doubtful name. Served as a Lieutenant, in Co C, 118th Illinois.

      Wayne N. Grubb was born on Aug 26, 1847 at Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Charles Grubb and Dinah Davison. Wayne married Annie Eliza Peebler, daughter of Jacob S. Peebler and Phillistia Graves Kendall, on Jan 26, 1871. Wayne N. Grubb died on Sep 16, 1919 at Ashland, Jackson County, Oregon, at age 72.
     In the census on Jun 7, 1900 Wayne N. Grubb was named Wane Grubb.


The funeral of Wayne N. Grubb, who died at his home Tuesday evening after a long illness, was held today from the late residence at the corner of the Boulevard and Morton Street at 10 a.m., and was conducted by Rev. C. F. Koehler of the Presbyterian church. Interment was made in the family plot in Ashland Cemetery. Mr. Grubb was a native of Pennsylvania. He had lived for the past nineteen years near Ashland on what is considered the finest alfalfa farm in this section of the valley. Failing health forced him to retire from active work, so he sold his farm and moved to a residence he owned in Ashland where he lived for the past year. He was one of the most highly respected men of this neighborhood and leaves a large number of friends to mourn his demise. Surviving Mr. Grubb are his wife and three children, Mrs. G. A. Morse of Sacramento, Calif; Mrs. H. B. Carter of Ashland and Charles Grubb of Turlock, Calif.

      Minerva Grubb was born on Oct 24, 1871 at Hamilton, Hancock County, Illinois. She was the daughter of Wayne N. Grubb and Annie Eliza Peebler. Minerva Grubb died on Aug 11, 1900 at Ashland, Jackson County, Oregon, at age 28.

      Mary Lonella Grubb was born on Apr 6, 1880 at Jewell County, Kansas. She was the daughter of Wayne N. Grubb and Annie Eliza Peebler. Mary married Henry Bernard Carter, son of Frank Hine Carter and Alice R. (Unknown), on Jun 17, 1908 at Ashland, Jackson County, Oregon. Mary Lonella Grubb died on Mar 25, 1966 at Ashland, Jackson County, Oregon, at age 85.
