JACOB BRUBAKER
Member of a pioneer Carson valley family, died last night at 9.30 o'clock at his home in Carson Valley, Duncansville, R. D. No. 1, death being attributed to a complication of ailments. He was a son of Ephriam and Lydia Hart Brubaker and was born in Carson Valley on June 2, 1860. He was united in marriage with Margaret Catherine Plowman in Hollidaysburg and they recently celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary. Surviving are the wife and these children Charles, Frank, George, Mrs. Ida McKee, Ord and Miss Ella Brubaker, all of Carson valley, Mrs. Gertrude McIntyre of East Freedom, Harry of Monongahela, Blair of Brookes Mills, Mrs. Rose Haller of Hollidaysburg, Brooke Brubaker of Lakemont and Mrs. Effie Sell of Hollidaysburg, and thirty-seven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Mr. Brubaker was educated in the community schools and followed farming all his life until retiring twelve years ago. He was a member of the Carson Valley Church of the Brethren and was active in the
work of the church throughout his life. Friends will be received at the home after 7 o'clock this evening.
BRUBAKER - Funeral services for Jacob Brubaker, of Duncansville will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock in the Carson Valley Church of the Brethren in charge of Rev. D. I. Pepple. Interment Carson Valley.

He retired in 1955. Mr. Brubaker was the oldest member of the Carson Valley Church of the Brethren. He was born Aug. 11, 1885, in Allegheny Twp., a son of Jacob and Margaret (Plowman) Brubaker, and was twice married, first to Hattie Hoover, who died Dec. 12, 1951, and then to Jenny Snyder Bowser, who died Jan. 27, 1964.
Surviving are four children, Ernest, with whom he resided, and Frank, Dean and Mrs. Hazel Helsel of Carson Valley; 15 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and seven brothers and sisters, Harry of Monongahela, Mrs. Rose Haller, Mrs. Ida Bowser and Blair of Hollidaysburg, Brooks of Alexandria, Ord of Cross Keys and Ella of Martinsburg and four step-children, Mrs. Mary Scott, Mrs. Eunice Scritchfield, Ray Bowser Jr. and Charles Bowser.
Friends will be received in the Donald E. Liebegott Funeral Home, Duncansville, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and in the Carson Valley Church of the Brethren from 10:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday.

James R. Hoover met sudden death on last Thursday evening at Cresson, about 4 o'clock, while flagging a train. He stepped out of the way of the approaching train and unfortunately stepped in front of an empty engine which was passing by, and was hurled from the track and instantly killed.
He was born December 7, 1873, being aged at the time of his death 25 years, 10 months and 12 days. He was married to Miss Laura Brubaker on the 29th day of July, 1898.
He was employed on the floating gang, at Gallitzin, of the Pennsylvania Railroad company. His life was that of a Christian. He was ever trying to do good.
He was a member of the Dunkard Brethren church and chorister in the same.
Besides his wife he leaves one child Effie N*. He was esteemed and respected by all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance.
