725th Railroad Battalion U. S. Army between Dec, 1942 and Nov, 1945. He George served in WW II as a PFC in the 725th Rail-way Operating Battalion. He joined the service at the same time the Army was inducting the men from the KC Southern railroad, therfore they put him in the unit they had created for the railroad workers. George was in India almost 2 years. ASN 37 248 041. He served from 12-11-1942 to 11-2-1945. on Dec 11, 1942 at *U. S. Army.

Occupation

Retired/Electrician George had to quit school after the Eighth Grade and go to work to help support his mother and younger siblings. He worked in the coal mines and for Mackie Clemons Coal Co. until the 1950's. He was a boom oiler on the big drag lines of the Mackie Co. and also operated heavy equipment. In the 1950's he went to work as an Electrician and became a Master Electrician, working for Jackson Elec. Co. until his retirement.
