Joan Weiler. Ernest Ivan Kilkenny died on 26. Dec. 2003 at Falmouth Hospital, Falmouth, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, at age 84.

KILKENNY - Ernest I., 84, former Director of New England Electron Microscope Society, of East Falmouth, MA, formerly of Cambridge and Lexington, died December 26, 2003 at Falmouth Hospital after a long struggle with emphysema. Mr. Kilkenny was born in Sebring, OH on December 24, 1919, the son of Webster Kilkenny and Maude (Oliver) Kilkenny. He was predeceased by two brothers and one sister. During World War II he spent three years in the U.S. Army Signal Corps serving in the Philippines and Guam. He received his degree in electrical engineering from Tri State College, IN, and was employed by RCA for thirty six years, retiring in 1982. He was a charter member and former director of the New England Electron Microscope Society. Mr Kilkenny had many interests. He was a 32nd degree Mason belonging to the William Parkman Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner with the Aleppo Temple in Boston, MA. He was an avid fisherman, a passion he passed on to his sons. He could often be seen working with his hands on home improvement projects such as building wooden decks, laying brick patios and and tackling full-scale remodeling jobs. He was a member of the Falmouth Amateur Radio Association with the call letters KAILII. He enjoyed using his computer to play games, to listen to music and to keep in touch with family and friends. He was a New England Patriots follower and a long suffering, faithful Boston Red Sox fan. Mr Kilkenny leaves behind his devoted wife of over forty-one years, Helen C. (Cimikoski) Kilkenny; three sons, Gilbert M. of Fremont, CA, Daniel L. of Woods Hole, MA and Michael O. of East Falmouth, MA; three daughters, Dale C. Anderson of Worcester, MA, Gay G. of Nashua, NH, and Bridget A. of Cranston RI; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; he also leaves two stepsons, Geoffrey Weiler of Mesa, AZ and Peter Weiler of Watertown, MA. He was predeceased by his first wife, Joan (Weiler) Kilkenny. A memorial service will be held at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Boulevard, Bourne, MA on Saturday, January 3rd at 11:00 am. Burial will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Falmouth Fire and Rescue Department to their E.M.S. Fund in Falmouth, MA.

EAST FALMOUTH - E.I. "Ken" Kilkenny, 84, died Friday at Falmouth Hospital of emphysema.
He was the husband of Helen C. (Cimikoski) Kilkenny for 41 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan (Weiler) Kilkenny.
Mr. Kilkenny was born in Sebring, Ohio. During World War II, he spent three years in the Army Signal Corps serving in the Philippines and Guam.

A memorial service is at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne. Burial is in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
