     Albert Banta was born on 12. Dec. 1788 at Schraalenburgh, Bergen County, New Jersey. He was the son of Peterius Banta and Rachel Van Cleave. Albert Banta married Mary Voorhees, daughter of John Voorhees, on 17. Jan. 1809. Albert Banta removed to at Darke County, Ohio, in 1823. He died on 10. Sep. 1848 at Drake, Ohio, at age 59.
