Newpaper; PHILLIPS-STEVENS Marriage at Home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stevens of Bethany. Miss Mary Elvira Stevens, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stevens of Bethany, was married at her home on Wednesday evening to Ernest O. Phillips of Pavilion. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. M. Scarff under a campy of evergreen and autumn leves.
The bride was gowned in delph blue crepe and carried Bride roses. She was attended by Miss Ann Phillips, sister of the groom, and Fred Hodges of Pike was the best man. Supper was served to fifty guests, the bride's table, at which covers were laid for ten, being decorated in green and pink.
Mr and Mrs Phillips, who have the best wishes of many friends, left on a trip to Niagara Falls. They will be at home in Bethany after December 1st.
NY newpaper; Oct 19, 1954 Covington -Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Phillips will observe their 50th wedding anniversary next Tuesday at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Allen of Wyoming Rd. Open house will begin at 2p.m. and continue through the evening. Mrs. Phillips, former Mary Stevens, daughter of Frank and Estelle Harding Stevens, was married to Mr. Phillips, son of John and Eva Johnson Phillips of Pavilion, by the Rev. James Scarff, pastor of the Bethany Center Baptist Church, at the home of the bride's parents. Fifteen who attended the wedding are still living. Mrs. Allen will be assised in entertaining by her sister, Mrs. Chester Wilson, and sister-in-law, Mrs. Ralph Phillips. Mr and Mrs.phillips have resided in Covington about 50 years. All of Mr. and Mrs. Phillips children will attend the celebration. They include Wallace Phillips of Hayward, Calif. Ralph Phillips of Covington, Mrs Chester Wilson of Wyoming and Mrs. Wilson's twin brother, Valance Phillips of Caledonia. Friends of the family are invited.

Antioch ,Ledger Dispatch Oct 1969 ;SIXTY-FIVE YEARS TOGETHER Dinner out and a party became a very special celebration recently when it was in honor of 65th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Phillips. Two of the couple's children and their spouses, Mr and Mrs. Wallace Phillips and Mr and Mrs. Chester Allen took them out for dinner. After church that same evening, members of the Hillside Baptist Church gather to congratulate the couple and visit over coffee and a pices of hte three-tiered anniversary cake. The Phillips have another daughter and two sona living in New York State.
19th Oct 1970- Sixty-Six Wedded Years--- Mr and Mrs. Ernest Phillips, 2713 El Rey St., Antioch, celebrated their 66 wedding anniversary recently. Plans had been made for an open house, however Mr. Phillips became ill and was taken to Gentrytown Convalescent home just a few days before the planned celebration. Because of this, the family celebrated the occasion by taking Mrs. Phillips to the Riverview for dinner. Members of the Hillside Baptist Church presented her with a corsage during services that morning and a special request duet was dedicated to the couple by their son, Wallace Phillips and Mrs. Zilpha Mann.
Ernest Oliver Phillips died on 30. Nov. 1970 at Antioch, Costa Costa County, California, at age 90. He was buried at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Concord, Costa Costa County, California.
Nov. 30 1970 -ERNEST PHILLIPS Services for Ernest O. Phillips 90, 2712 El Ray St. Antioch, who died at Delta Memorial Hospital Monday, will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home, with Rev. Clark L. Mann of Antioch Hillside Baptist Church officating. Mr. Phillips, who had been ill several months, had been in the Gentey Convalescent Home before entering the hospital. He was born in Bristol, N.Y. and attended Pavilion Trasit School in Pavilion, N.Y. He had been a farmer before moving to Antioch 11 years ago.He was married to the former Mary E. Stevens and the couple celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in October. Mr Phillips was a member of the Hillside Baptist Church of Antioch. He leaves his wife, a resident of Antioch; two daughters, Mrs. Inez Allen, Antioch and Vera Wilson of Wyoming, N.Y. three sons, Wallace G. Phillips of Antioch; Ralph A. Phillips of Covington, N.Y., and Valance L. Phillips of East Beathany, N.Y; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Hodges, Silver Springs,N.Y; Mrs.Leola Stevens, Oakfield, N.Y and one brother, Earl phillips, Elba, N.Y. ; 13 grand children and 19 great grandchildren. Pallbearers include Glen Sanders, Art Cortes, Ray Coker, Cliff Barstwo, Clyde Gilbertath and Wave Carter. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens near Concord.The family prefers contributions to the Hillside Baptist Churh fund.
