Abraham Price served in the Civil War, 167th Regimen Infantry, Ohio National Guard from Hamilton, Ohio May 2, 1864 to Sept 8, 1864. His brother George C. Price died in 1863 at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri as a result of war wounds (Civil War). Another brother Samuel W. was also in the Civil War.. We have Abraham's certificate of participation signed by Abraham Lincoln dated 15th December 1864. Abraham Price played the fiddle with his sons. He was a farmer by occupation. Abraham Price and Anna Catharine Baird were married in Warren County, Ohio. He was 21 and she was 18. They were married 51 years 8 months and 19 days. They moved to Darke County, Ohio in March 1871 to a farm 2 1/2 miles north west of Greenville (Section 16, West 10, Greenville Township 5) Hinkle Pike.. He died Dec 22, 1913 at 5 A.M. in Greenville, Ohio 81 years 7 months 19 days and was buried in the Greenville Cemetery, first row East side along the road. Cause of death was listed as organic heart of several years duration with secondary cause arteriosclerosis. His wife proceeded him in death. Anna Catharine Baird Price comes from a very solid family. They were members of the Presbyterian Church in Franklin and prior to that the Reformed Dutch Church, Freehold, New Jersey. Her family can be traced back the fartherest due to Monmouth County, New Jersey church records.

Born 1900, don't know the month, however, Grandma had scarlet feer at that time and he was born early and grandpa made a little bed for him and heated it with hot bricks wrapped in blankets to try to keep him alive and warm - the baby only lived 18 days and is buried in that cemetery in Madisonville, Ohio. There is a grave marker with a lamb on it and his name.
