     Henry Miller Ransdell was born on 18. Feb. 1886 at Harrodsburg, Mercer County, Kentucky. He was the son of Joseph Jackson Ransdell and Laura Bell Terhune. Henry Miller Ransdell married Rose Ellen Randolph on 1. Jun. 1912 at Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma. Henry Miller Ransdell was a roustabout on 5. Jun. 1917. He resided at at Markham, Creek County, Oklahoma, on 5. Jun. 1917. He was an oil fied driller. He died on 6. Jan. 1946 at Geneseo, Rice County, Kansas, at age 59. He was buried at Lyons, Rice County, Kansas.

Miller left Mercer Co. 1904 at age 17 and joined the Army. He was in the Army 5 1/2 years, in the Military Police. He was in the Boxer Rebellion, the Philippine War, and in Nagasaki, Japan on detached duty. After leaving the Army he worked at Pinkertons which the govt contracted for secret service work. 'While investigating the Dalton gang in Kansas City, some of them beat him up, so he left Pinkertons. He went to Oklahoma, to the oil fields, working as a driller on rigs. Not found in 1910, 1920 or 1930 census. He died at the age of 58 of a heart attack. Obituary in Harrodsburg Herald 18 Jan 1946: Miller Ransdell, formerly of this place, died at 8 pm January 6, 1946, at his home in Lyons, KS. Oldest son of the late J.J.. Ransdell and Laura Terhune Ransdell, born in Mercer Co. 18 Feb 1886. Left Mercer Co. when he was 18 years old for Kansas City, shortly afterward joined the U.S. regular army and served 6 years. Married Miss Rosie Banes [Barnes was her 1st married name], native of Oklahoma. Survived by 2 sons, Carl and Harold, one dtr Jannetta, 3 grandchildren, 5 brothers: Sterling, Bernice, J Lee, Harvey, and Hugh Ransdell. J. L. Ransdell of Indianapolis attended the services in Lyons, KS.

Last Friday afternoon death claimed Mr. Shelton T. Ransdell, one of the best known citizens of this place. He was 73 years of age and had been in failing health for about a year, and the last few weeks his condition has been alarming, so when death came it released him from great suffering. Mr. Ransdell was a native of Mercer county, the son of the late San[Sanford Ransdell] and Margaret Cozine Ransdell. He was a member of the Christian church and had been an elder in the congregation for many years. His pall-bearers at the funeral were his fellow-officers in the church. Mr. Ransdell was well liked by everyone, was prominent in Republican circles.

Fifty-two years ago he was married to Miss Mary Amner Tucker, of this place, who survives him with four children, Messrs. Andrew, Thomas and Minor Ransdell, and Mrs. Will Smith. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon, conducted by his pastor, Rev. E. B. Bourland, assisted by Rev. F. T. McIntire, pastor of the Epworth Methodist church at Lexington. The interment was at Spring Hill cemetery, many beautiful floral tributes giving evidence of the esteem in which he was held. Shelton Ransdell was born c 1847 at Mercer County, Kentucky.
