Mrs. Stockton was a seamstress for J.C. Penney and she also worked in the store's catalog department until she retired in 1975. She also worked for the Lyon County Election Board.

Mrs. Stockton was a member of First Friends Church in Emporia, the Church Missionary Society and Bible Study Group. She also was a member of the Nifty Fifty Club, Emporia Quilters Guild and the ESU International Club. And she was a former Girl Scout leader. She married Gerald M. Stockton on Nov. 7, 1931, at Holton. He died Feb. 11, 1978. Mrs. Stockton also was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Diane Stockton and Susan Stockton. Survivors include four sons, Thomas J. Stockton, Fort Smith, Ark., Gerald E. Stockton, Springdale, Ark., Larry D. Stockton, Fort Scott, and Kevin L. Stockton, San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Patricia F. Redeker, Olpe, and Orpha Bell, Duncan, Ariz; three brothers, Roy M. Schaefer, Emporia, Marion Schaefer, Des Moines, Iowa, and Harry Grey, Clackton, Ore; a sister, Ione Wilson, Fayetteville, Ark; 17 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the First Friends Church in Emporia. Burial will be at Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Relatives and friends will meet from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Roberts-Blue- Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Friends Church and sent in care of the funeral home.
