Davis Lucian Spaulding Served in the Civil War from 17th June 1861 as a Hospital Steward in 19th Regiment Illinois Volunteers Infantry until discharged at Nashville Tenn. on the 24th November 1862 and made Asst. Surgeon. From 24 November 1862 he served as Contact Surgeon in a hospital at Nashville Tenn. and with the 4th Ohio Volunteer Cavalry in the field until June 1865. He was 5 feet 7 1/2 inches tall, dark complexion, hazel eyes, and dark brown hair. He died on 26. Apr. 1914 at Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, at age 79. He was buried at Virden Cemetery, Virden, Macoupin County, Illinois.
