CEDAR FALLS -- Dorse L. Spurgeon, 70, of 1809 Maplewood Drive, died
Sunday,
February 7, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, from complications of a
stroke; services 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with
burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Waterloo; visitation 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Home, 266-3525, with the family present
from 3
to 9 p.m; there will be a
7 p.m. Knights of Columbus rosary, followed by a 7:45 p.m. Scripture
Service
Tuesday at the funeral home; a memorial fund will be established.

Dorse L. Spurgeon
Cedar Falls -- Dorse L. Spurgeon, 70, of 1809 Maplewood Drive, died
Sunday,
February 7, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, of a stroke.
He was born May 2, 1922, in Lake City, son of Floyd & Olive Holm
Spurgeon. He
married Norma Marietta on May 24, 1952, in Waterloo.
Mr. Spurgeon was a supervisor at Deere & Co. Component Works for 37
years,
retiring in 1982. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War
II.
Survivors include his wife, 3 sons, Mark S. of Kansas City, Missouri;
Neal J.
of Des Moines & Paul M. of Hastings, Minnesota; 2 daughters, Marietta A.
Spurgeon of Lakeland, FL & Karen L. Mackey of Cedar Falls; 3
granddaughters;
and a brother, Carl of Cedar Falls; he was preceded in death by a son,
Wane.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with
burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Waterloo. Friends may call until 9 p.m.
today at Richardson Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 3
to
9 p.m. There will be a 7 p.m. Knights of Columbus rosary and a 7:45
Scripture
service. A memorial fund has been established.
