The funeral services for Mrs. Julia E. (Tucker) Jones, 95, Pomona RFD 1, who died Thursday at Cedar House will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Pomona United Methodist Church with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Rev Fred Anderson will officiate.
Mrs. Jones was born March 19, 1898 at Michigan Valley, and moved to the Pomona area in 1923. She graduated from Michigan Valley High School and was certified as a teacher by Kansas State Normal at Emporia. She taught for the Cobb School District before her marriage. She was a member of the Boyd Ladies Air, Pomona Flower and Garden Club, and Pomona United Methodist Church.
On March 26, 1924, she was married to Clarence S. Jones at Ottawa. He died in 1977. Survivors include three sons, Robert Jones and Arlon Jones, both of Pomona RFD1 and Max E. Jones, Lawrence; a daughter, Mrs. Vera E. Hull, Hutchinson; two brothers John Tucker, Overbrook, and Marion Tucker, Emporia; a sister, Mrs. Edna Milton, Ottawa RFD 3, 12 grandchildren and (unreadable) great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Pomona United Methodist Church Memorial Fund and left at the church or in care of Dengel & Son Mortuary.
