Abraham VanDeventer was also known as Abram VanDeventer. He was baptized on 5. Sep. 1697 at Dutch Reformed Church, Flatbush, Kings County, New York. He was the son of
Peter Jansen VanDeventer and
Mayke Christianse Van Doren. Abraham VanDeventer married
Aeltje Couwenhoven, daughter of
Cornelis Willemse Van Kouwenhoven and
Margaretta Schenck, c 1731. In his will dated Apr 25, 1733, Abraham Vandeventer, blacksmith, of Monmouth County, NJ, mentioned his wife Altje, her daughter, Mary Van Doren, and his son Peter. The Executors were his father-in-law, Cornelius Covenhoven and his brother, Issac Vandeventer, and the witnesses were Jacob Vandeventer, Roelof Covenhoven, and John Browne. His estate was proved on 11. Dec. 1733.
