Helen Anthony, 87, died Monday night at Marengo Memorial Hospital.
Surviving are her husband, Ray; three sons, Donal of Loveland, Colo., Daniel of Wisner, Neb., and Roger of Dale City, Va; four daughters, Virginia Barton of Highland, Calif., Marjorie Sparrgrove of Traer, Barbara Rosburg of Cedar Edge, Colo., and Jane Arnold of Mechanicsville; a brother, Pat Wheeler of Pleasanton, Calif; a sister, Marjorie Williams of Oregon; 29 grandchildren; 52 great-grand children; and one great-great grandchild.
Services: ll A.M. Friday at Sheridan United Methodist Church, rural Malcom. Burial; Sheridan Cemetery. Friends may call at Nevenhoven's after 6 P.M. today.

Dr. Homer H. Wheeler, 73 years old, Indinapolis physician, died yesterday in Philidelphia where he had gone for treatment after a short illness. Dr. Wheeler, who resided at the Columbia Club, was a member of the surgical staffs of the Methodist, St, Vincen's and City Hospitals. He was assistant professor of surgery at the Indiana University School of Medicine from 1907 to 1937. Dr. Wheeler was graduated from the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Indiana School of Medicine, in 1897 after which he did post graduate work in Europe as well as in the United States. Dr. Wheeler was born in Adyville, Perry County, Nov 8, 1872, and belonged to a pioneer family of southern Indiana. Among his professional affiliations were membership in the American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons, Indiana Medical Association, the national Gastroenterological Society, and the American Proctological Society. He had written several theses for these societies. Dr. Wheeler was also a member of the Indiana Society of Pioneers, Kiwanis Club, Phi Beta Pi medical fraternity, Mystic Tie Lodge No. 398, F. & A. M., Ancient Accepted Scottush Rite and the Murat Shrine. He was a member of the Tabernacle Presbyterian Church and active in the Paul Coble Post of the American Legion. He served in World War I as a captain in the Medical Corps of the United States Army. Dr. Wheeler is survved by a son, Sgr. Garver Wheeler; a brother Dr. John T. Wheeler; one grandson and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted by Dr. Roy Ewing Vale, pastor of Tabermacle Presbyterian Church at 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in the Flanner & Buchanan Morturary. Private burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Shuart, Ruth (Wheeler) December 16, 2006 Ruth (Wheeler) Shuart, 84, of the Nottingham in Jamesville, NY, died from complications of diabetes and dementia on Saturday. Ruth was born August 22, 1922 in Binghamton, NY, the daughter of S. Ross a nd Ruth (Guftason) Wheeler. She moved to E. Orange, NJ at an early age after the death of her father. Mrs. Shuart received her bachelor's degree ( in mathematics education) from Montclair State University in January 1943. She started her teaching career at Morristown High School in NJ and continued at E. Orange High School. During this time she participated in a raft of graduate level mathematics courses at New York University. She married Otis H. Shuart, a college classmate, on February 16, 1946, after his WW II discharge from the Army. They moved to Schenectady, NY in 1950 and to Syracuse in 1955. They had two children. She resumed her teaching care er in Syracuse in 1958 and taught math at North High untilit closed and continued at Henninger where she was Math Dept. Chair and also the official representative to the Syracuse Teachers Assoc. She retired in 1977. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church for many years where she served in the church school as teacher and supervisor. After 1980 she joined Church of the Saviour, where she served a term on the Vestry and acted as hospitality chair for several years. She was predeceased by a daughter, Ruth (Shuart) Lam. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Otis; a son, Ross, of Riverview, FL; four adult grandchildren, Christine, Carolyn, Sarah and Alexander. A public memorial service will be held at Whelan Bros. FuneralHome on December 30, 2006 at 2 p.m. No visiting hours a re planned. Burial will be replaced by a scattering of ashes in the spring. No flowers please. Donations may be made to the CNY Alzheimer's Assoc ., your favorite charity, or St. Mark the Evangelist. Whelan Bros. Funeral Home.
