Wedding announcement: The wedding of Miss Janet Cornwall Van Vliet, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Deuse Maires Van Vliet, of 59 Washington Avenue, North Plainfield, and Guy Stevens Lyman, of Cleveland, Ohio, took place (on February 28, 1920) at 8 o'clock on Saturday evening in the Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church. Rev. John J. Moment, the pastor, officiated in the presence of a large assemblage of relatives and friends, many of whom came from Cleveland, points further west, and several eastern cities. Obituary: Mrs. Janet Van Vliet Lyman, 79, died (November 11, 1973) at Birchwood Convalescent Center, Edison, after a long illness. Born in Plainfield, she lived here for 50 years. Mrs. Lyman was a former member of the King's Daughters of Plainfield and a member of the Presbyterian Church here.
She was the widow of Guy Stevens Lyman, who died in 1960. Surviving is a son, Stanley Van Vliet Lyman of Bernardsville; a sister, Mrs. Ruth V.V. Fawcett of Red Bank; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. today in the chapel of the Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Frederick E. Christian officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. The Gray Funeral Home, 318 East Broad Street, is in charge of arrangements.
