Frederick Chase died in 1928. He was buried at Capron, Woods County, Oklahoma. The following sketch is from Andrea’s History of Kansas 1882, p. 834:
“ F. Chase, farmer, Section 24, P. O. Mission (St. Paul), native of Ohio, was born in 1852. His parents moved to Illinois in 1857. He came to Kansas in 1872 in company with Mr. Smart, buying the Joe Oliphant farm in 1873, (Joe Oliphant married Mary (Moody) Smart’s youngest sister, Rebecca Jane Moody) having just married Miss (Lucy) Smart. In 1882 his father lived with him. Two brothers and two sisters were also in Kansas.
