Mae was in great health up until her final winter. She decided to spend
it in the Dickerson Rest Home in Belmont, New York where she passed away
in her sleep. She had all of her faculties about her, a great memory and
wonderful tales of her youth. She lived alone in the home where she
raised her 5 sons. She continued to maintain her home, did cooking etc.
Up until the last year of her life she continued to can food items each
year.
