JOHN E. ENGLAND DIED SUNDAY AT LINCOLN HOSPITAL
John Edward England, of Chicago, who had been in Mount Pulaski for several weeks, staying with his mother, Mrs. Tillie England, and receiving medical care, was removed to the Deaconess Hospital, Lincoln, Wednesday, July 4, in the Schahl ambulance. He died there at 4:45 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 1951, aged 41 years, 1 month, and 26 days. He had been in failing health for many months.
Mr. England was born May 12, 1910 in Mount Pulaski, Ill., a son of John and Tillie Horn England. He attended the Mount Pulaski schools. In Bowling Green, Ky., 12 years ago, he married Miss Emogene Combs of Mount Pulaski. They lived in this city for two years and then located in Chicago.
Decedent is survived by his wife; his mother, Mrs. Tillie England, Mount Pulaski; and a half-sister, Mrs. Hubert Zimmerli of San Pablo, Calif.
The remains were removed to the Schahl Funeral Home, Mount Pulaski, where funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, by Rev. Ray O. Zumstein, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church. Two hymns, "Heaven is My Home" and "Asleep in Jesus", were sung by Paul R. Moore, with piano accompaniment by Mrs. J. H. Stuart.
Burial was in the Mount Pulaski cemetery. Pallbearers were Edward Gulso, Frank E. Turley, Delbert Horn, Ennis Downing, Roman Romer, and Howard Horn.
He was buried at Mount Pulaski Cemetery, Mount Pulaski, Logan County, Illinois.
