Barent Jacobson Cool was also known as Barent Jacobson Kool. He was also known as Barend Cool. Barent Jacobson Cool was born circa 1600 at Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands. He was baptized on 10 May 1610 at Dutch Reformed Church, Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands. He immigrated in 1626 to New Amsterdam, New York County, New York; as an agent for the West India Company. On 1633 he was one of six men that signed a treaty with the Indians for the purchase of land at New Amsterdam.

Marretje Leenderts De Graw, daughter of
Leendert Arentsen and
Leuntje Alberts Lydecker, before 1638 at Ulster County, New York. Barent Jacobson Cool was an official of the Dutch West India Company in 1645. He he was and officer of the Dutch West Inida company and was appointed an esiseman to guard the wine and beer trade against fraud under the ast of the Burgomaster of New Amsterdam on 5 May 1654. He held the position of Burgher between January 1657 and 1661 at New Amsterdam, New York County, New York. He gavethe oath of allegiance Barent Jacobson Cool in 1664; to the British Government. He resided at at Bridge Street, New York City, New York County, New York, in 1665. He died after 1684 at Possibly, New York City, New York County, New York.
