Cornelius Van Siclen was born on 24 January 1725/26 at Gravesend, Kings County, New York. He was the son of Fernandus Van Sycklen and Mary Lane. Cornelius Van Siclen married Femmetje Vanderveer, daughter of Hendrick Vanderveer and Antje Van Siclen, on 11 September 1751. He resided in Dutchess County, NY and owned a large tract at Wrapping Creek. Cornelius Van Siclen married Catherine Johnson on 11 June 1771 at New York City, New York County, New York. Cornelius Van Siclen died in January 1806 at Rombout, Dutchess County, New York. He died in January 1806 at Rumbout-Clinton Twp., Dutchess County, New York.

Femmetje Vanderveer died before 10 December 1779 at Sowerland, Somerset County, New Jersey.
