Abraham Gerritsen Blauvelt was an Assessor in 1703. He a Deacon at Dutch Reformed Church, Tappan, Rockland County, New York, 1705. He an Elder at Dutch Reformed Church, Tappan, Rockland County, New York, 1711. Abraham was not one of the original Tappan Patentees, but by 1723 he had acquired about 1000 acrtes, partly in Old Tappan and Partly in what is now Harrington Park, NJ. He left a will on 26 March 1731. His estate was proved on 15 June 1751.

He was the son of Hendrick Gerryts and Grietje (Unknown). In Nov 1637, two ships sailed from Gottenburg, Sweden, bound for the New World. A severe storm forced them to land for repairs at Texel in the Netherlands. One of these ships was the "Kalmer Nyckel", which finally set sail again on Dec 31, 1637. On board were six passengers, including Gerrit Hendrickson. Although a shoemaker by trade, Kiliane Van Rensal had hired him as a field hand to cultivate tobacco on his land in Rensselarwick, near Albany. Gerrit Hendricksen immigrated in March 1638 to New Amsterdam, New York County, New York. He resided at at Rensselaerwick, New York, between April 1638 and April 1641. He resided at at New Amsterdam, New York County, New York, in 1646. Johannes Gerritsen Blauvelt was a Lt. of the Militia in 1690. He married Catherine Cornelis Speets, daughter of Cornelis Matthysen and Barentje Dircks, circa 1694. Johannes Gerritsen Blauvelt a Deacon in the Dutch Church, Tappan, NY in 1695 at Dutch Reformed Church, Tappan, Rockland County, New York, 1695. He a Deacon in the Dutch Church, Tappan, NY in 1701 at Dutch Reformed Church, Tappan, Rockland County, New York, 1701. He was an Assessor in 1704. He left a will on 23 April 1715. On 1729 was one of the five men who deeded 97 acres of land to the church.
He died before 29 July 1733. Was one of the Tappan Patantees, and his share of 950 acres was located in what is now Orangeburg, NY. Johannes was one of the first members of the Tappan Church. His estate was proved on 10 October 1734.
