Abraham Martling was born on 21 April 1719. He was the son of
Abraham Martling and
Rachel De Veaux. Abraham Martling married
Jannitje Ackerman, daughter of
Deacon David Ackerman and
Maritie Zee, on 17 March 1739. Abraham Martling was a boatman. He held the position of town clerk between 1748 and 1749 at Phillipsburg, Orange County, New York. He wounded in the galley fight off at Tarrytown, Westchester County, New York. He died on 6 June 1786 at age 67. He was buried after 6 June 1786 at Sleepy Hollow, Tarrytown, Westchester County, New York.
