In the 1623 Plymouth division of Land, granted one acre "beynd the first brook to the wood westward" as a passenger on the Fortune. In the 1627 Plymouth division of cattle, Stephen Deane ws the twelth person in the twelth company. In 1627 "Phillip Delanoy" sold to Stephen Deane for £4 "one acre of land lying on the north side of town between the first and second brook. He married Elizabeth Ring, daughter of William Ring and Mary Durant, in September 1627 at Massachusetts. "Steven Dean" sold to "Robert Hixe" for £4 "2 acres of land lying on the north side of the town between the first and second brook, the on being his own inheritance, the other was that he bought of Philip De le noy" on 10 February 1629. In the "1633" Plymouth list of freemen, ahead of those admitted on Jan. 1, 1632/33. He was granted permission by the General Court to set up his corn mill "upon the brook adjoining the town of Plymouth" and to receive as a toll one pottle of each bushel ground; from ther terms of the agreement, it is clear that he already had a functioning mill farther from town on 7 January 1632/33. Stephen Deane was assessed 9s on the tax list on 26 March 1633 at Plymouth, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. William Bradford (as adminstrator of Godbert Godbertson) sold to "Steven Deane" for £20 "the late dwelling house of the said Godbert, with the misted, inclosures & outhousing thereunto belonging" on 10 March 1633/34. He served on a Committee to assess taxes on 27 March 1634. He was assessed 12s on the tax list on 27 March 1634 at Plymouth, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. He died in September 1634 at Plymouth, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. The Inventory of Stephen Deane was taken by Stephen Hopkins and Robert Hicks, and totaled £87 19s. 6d. of which £42 was real estate: "the house and fens at Fresh Lake," £2; "dwelling house and garden," £20; and the mill, £20 on 2 October 1634. "Willam[sic] Twining of Eastham ... for himself and Merriam Deane his sister and for Sussanna Snow sister to his wife; which three are the proper and joint heirs of their father Steven Deane his land" sold to Peter Warden for £8 "all the lands that belongs unto and were the purchase lands of Stephen Dean deceased" on 5 April 1669.
