He married Marretie Jacobse Van Winkle, daughter of Jacob Walichs and Trintje Jacobs, on 23 March 1692 at French Church, Kinderkamack, Bergen County, New Jersey. Jean Demarest joined the Dutch Reformed Church, Hackensack, NJ by letter from the French Church, Kinderkamack, NY at Dutch Reformed Church, Hackensack, Bergen County, New Jersey, 10 July 1696. He married Magdalena Laurens on 20 December 1702 at Dutch Reformed Church, Hackensack, Bergen County, New Jersey. Jean Demarest left a will on 29 March 1714. He died on 16 October 1719 at New Barbados, Bergen County, New Jersey, at age 74. His estate was proved on 10 November 1719.
