Joris Brinkerhoff elder of the Dutch Reformed Church at Schralenburgh, NJ. He resided at at Conewago, York now Adams County, Pennsylvania. He was also known as George Brinkerhoff. He was baptized on 9 October 1719 at Dutch Reformed Church, Hackensack, Bergen County, New Jersey. He was the son of
Jacobus Hendricks Brinkerhoff and
Angenitie Banta. Joris Brinkerhoff married
Martyntie Bogert, daughter of
Roelof Janse Bogert and
Elizabeth Bertholf, on 22 November 1745 at Dutch Reformed Church, Hackensack, Bergen County, New Jersey. Joris Brinkerhoff removed to at York now Adams County, Pennsylvania, he settled on a tract of 520 acres in an area known as Conowago about four miles northeast of the present City of Gettysburg circa April 1770. He was elder, Dutch Reformed Church, Conewago, Adams County, PA. He died on 3 January 1810 at Adams County, Pennsylvania, at age 90.
