Cheryl Rose Swift was born on 5 September 1948 at Crookston, Polk County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of
Hugh Ceylon Swift and
Eleanor Rose Weber. She died on 1 April 2001 at Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, at age 52.

Cheryl Rose Wehrly. The daughter of Hugh & Eleanore Swift was born on Sept. 5, 1948 in Crookston, MN. She was baptized on Oct. 17, 1948 and confirmed in 1962 in the Lutheran Faith. She worked for the FBI from 1966 to 1968. She married Charles Barber on July 6, 1968. She moved to Lubbock in 1982 and worked as a telephone operator. She married Paul Wehrly on May 29, 1994. She retired from Southwestern Bell in April 1999. Cheryl died on April 1, 2001 from a rare disease "olivopontocerebellar atrophy" (shrinkage of the brain). Her body was donated to science.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Wehrly; a son, Todd Barber of Moorhead, MN; a daughter, Angela Barber of Lubbock; six stepchildren, Stephanie, Sean, Aaron, Tonya and Paul Wehrly and Sara Trowbridge; her father Hugh Swift of Big Lake, MN; her mother, Eleanore Swift, of Crookston, MN; and five brothers; Hugh of Farmington, MN; Ernie of Atlanta, GA; Jim of Loveland, CO; Lyle of Harrison, OH; and Tom of Aurora, CO. The family suggests memorials to Vista Care Family Hospice.
